CHAUVET DJ Hurricane Haze 2 Water-Based Haze Machine

The media could not be loaded. We are using this for a play that is primarily a musical. “Traditional” smoke machines made singing impossible, and cast and audience ended up coughing. This machine allows for you to set a spurt of vapor on a timer. The vapor is practically odorless and has a nice weight to it. I also like that it is easy to remove the tank for refills.

The machine is very responsive. Use to you and works great. I prefer this machine over the machine that was put out after it. This machine emits much quicker

The Chauvet Hurricane Hazer is a great machine. Prior to purchasing this haze machine I did not have a lot of experience with haze machines. I knew the exact look that I was going for, so after consulting some people who are experts on these, they led me to this product. We use at my church for a light haze effect in a room that seats about 400 people and we want the haze just to see the light beams and it works just the way it should. The best feature is being able to hook it up via DMX cables and have the audio techs run it during the service. Great buy!

Affordable hazer but not real reliable. After about a week of use the blower stopped. We returned it to the local store. They exchanged it with another unit. About three more weeks go by....same problem. Blower quits working. It still outputs haze but no fan. We have since returned it and now we are on our third unit. We ordered from Amazon because the local store was going to be about a month to order a replacement. We shall see.

They work when they work.... I have bought 4 of these... 2 at a time.... worked for 4-6 months... Cleaned regularly, and get this only used 6 hours a week, 10-1 Friday + Saturday nights.... Repaired one of them, ordered the part from Chauvet direct, lasted 3 months then the heating element went bad. One of them the air pimp was disconnected so I fixed it, surprised it is going strong, then had to buy a new one. The new one lasted 3 months before the heating element went bad. Literally, these things don't last, also that new one's remote would turn on, but never controlled the unit (I didn't need it anyways) this was OUT OF THE BOX. Sorry this is crap, I only needed 2 now I am at 4, and only down to one working unit, and considering that one was one of the first ones I bought... This is like a slot machine in Vegas, literally it has been just a headache. I am going to try Marq brand, sold on here, and its prime, hopefully it lasts longer... It is cheaper, but I don't want to spend $1000 for 1 hazer.

My band has been using the older style oil based smoke machine. It's a manual operation and although it works it pumps out big smoke that dissipated pretty quickly. Not to mention the oil based can sometimes set off smoke detectors.The Chauvet Hurricane Haze 2 was the rig I was looking for. It's awesome! It's water based and the fog (haze) is much more uniform across the stage. It's DMX controlled (manual operation too) which allows my light/sound engineer to control the unit from FOH.I have used it three times thus far and couldn’t be happier. My light show looks incredible as the Chauvet Hurricane Haze 2 keep just the right amount of haze on the stage which lasts and does not set off smoke detectors. NOTE: this does not mean the the Chauvet Hurricane Haze 2 won’t set off a smoke detector but it’s less likely. One venue which did have a smoke detector go off with the old oil based fog machine, but, did not go off with the Chauvet Hurricane Haze 2!There are many options for controlling the Chauvet Hurricane Haze 2 via DMX and manual. Very user friendly. Also, just one of these babies can fill an entire stage 40 x 30 pretty quickly.I would highly recommend adding one to your setup be it band, theater or any venue requiring a haze on the stage.

This works as advertised. It produces a nice thin haze at low output, or a fairly dense fog at high output. The fog juice is advertised as nontoxic, which had better be the case given that people are breathing it in, but after 10 minutes of dense fog the throat does become irritated. This device has a nice automatic timer that allows it to operate on its own to refresh the fog, or it can be used manually to operate on demand. I've used it for laser shows, and when it is going at an optimal rate it does allow for visualization of nice optical sculptures.It will also set off fire alarms for certain kinds of detectors. So make sure you check it in the environment you're planning to use it before you do a show!

I've been using one of these for the past two years almost every weekend with our band. It has been reliable and fills even the larges clubs with an even haze. I recently purchased a second unit as we had to do an outdoor show and I wanted one for both sides of the stage as there's no room to contain the haze. The results were spectacular. We were fortunate to have a breeze-free evening and the haze made the whole stage look GREAT!My only minor complaint, and the reason I did not award 5 stars, is that I have a lot of difficulty getting it to produce a very light haze in the room, particularly smaller rooms...when it first starts it really blasts a cloud (even on the lowest output setting) that isn't appreciated by the crowd sometimes. It's so much better to haze the room and the audience is totally unaware it's happening until the lights come up.The unit warms up quickly, and at my aforementioned outdoor show I ran both units full tilt for four continuous hours and only used about half of the fluid in the reservoir. There are better hazers available, but nothing that compares for this price range.
