Excellent germination rate. Just watch out for birds, the ones in my area like some of the sprouts, but seem to leave the clovers alone. Had to keep an eye out and scare the birds away until the sprouts got passed the first few days into seedling stage, then the birds don't seem to be eating them any more.

I sowed these about 1.5 weeks ago, indoors, in a small test container with 4 drainage holes. I don't currently have a garden, but want to sow some in my local environment for critters, and keep some for myself to eat as sprouts -- I am assuming these are all human-edible, since we can forage for plants to eat in survival scenarios, and most of these seeds are familiar names. I didn't give a flavor rating because I haven't tried any yet. So far, I am pleased with these seeds, and my bag was intact when I received it. I am perplexed that there are so many 1 and 2 star reviews saying the seeds didn't germinate, since mine sprouted in about 3 days. I didn't sow them in any organized fashion, so it's hard to estimate an exact germination rate, but it seems to be between 80 and 90%. Possibly higher. I used Kellogg Organics Raised Bed potting mix, watered after "broadcasting" the seeds, and I only keep the soil moist [which does not require daily watering]. When sowing, I only covered the large seeds, by just pushing them into the soil about 1/8" and flicking a little soil on top. They are in a sunny East window in the morning until I get up around 10, and if/when it's above 45-ish degrees Fahrenheit, I set them outside for a while to get the full spectrum of sun rays. I'm on a border of Zones 4 and 5. There's approximately 2.5" of soil in the container, and the bottom already has many roots showing. I know this because today a neighbor's cat knocked over the inverted bucket I am using for a stand, probably trying to get a closer look, and spilled out the container. grrr lol UPDATE - APRIL 22 It has now been approximately 18 (?) days and I am posting 2 new pictures. Looking great! I'm going to broadcast some outdoors between the alley and street, and see what happens.

Quality is top notch. I got my bag in the mail 2 days ago. spread some of the seeds immediately and did the rest of the bins yesterday. Layed a VERY thin layer of coco coir over the top of them and watered them in. They're already starting to pop out of the coco. I was suprised they germinates so quick so i moved a little of the coco out of the way to check and these seeds are almost all germed and some are close to an inch long. The ones in the pic were planted late last night. Definitely buying a 5lb bag for my outdoor Raised beds in the spring.

Update - after 4 months- This ground cover is amazing! It is sheltering the root system of some by rid willow trees I planted at about 6 or so uncles that are now multi branched and are over 8 feet tall. I have been mowing next to the planting area to keep an edge or border. I occasionally go in to pull the plants that have dried out or died in my hot environment and I leave the scraps. I have not been putting the scraps in the compost as I want to keep the benefits in the soil at the planting site. I have researched all of the seeds in this mix trying to find out which seed/plant has given me massive, and I mean MASSIVE vine growth!!!! This is a pleasant surprise because the purpose of the willow trees were for privacy. I went out recently to add bougainvillea plants and i may not need to since I was able to stake all of the 2-3 inch trunks of each and toss the vines over a 6 foot wall with at least 3-5 feet hanging over the other side. I think, based on the photos researched, that they might be buckwheat. I’m very happy because they grew so fast and I wasn’t expecting this. This ground cover is amazing. I purchased and sowed in April in hot Southern California. Germination was quick - about 2 weeks & then quickly filling in within another week or 2. I watered frequently so the seeds remained moist and didn’t dry out because the area gets south sun and is an open backyard so from sunrise to sunset, the entire area also gets all day east to west sun. Also, I transplanted willow hybrids into the ground and they need lots of water & this ground cover is purposes for shading the willow roots and crowding out weeds. I’m very impressed. I have a few bare spots for areas that need additional sowing and where the sun dried out the crop when I lapsed in watering. I’ll purchase again to sow in October when the sun is less intense but still like summer anywhere on the east coast and hoping to see what results I get over the winter when the roots can establish before next years California summer.

I planted these seeds about three weeks ago and to date there is not much to show other than some clover popping through. Maybe it takes a long time for the wild flowers themselves to develop so I am not saying there is anything wrong which is why I gave 3 stars all round. Guess I'll wait and see..... Update, very disappointed, little to no growth at all. Maybe it is the soil, the slope, not sure. But a complete waste of time and money for me....

Excellent rapid germination. Have tried many cover crops....this is the best !!!

Bit expensive but came very fast

I spread the seeds as described. There weren’t any plants, however it may have been due to the dry season and I was unable to water it.
