Good reference material
Used for educational purposes only. The practical application is not something that I would get involved with. Far too easy to run afoul of one or more regulations. Still as with all of the books written by Ragnar this ismamgood read.precise and well laid out.

Detonators
Old 1990s book information is I would think obsolete but it's sounds technical enough for back round information. Makes a good source for my short stories about Detectives and SCI FI Thiller Situations in order to sound believable to the reader

Informative.
This stuff is dangerous and caution is advised in the handling and use as well as legality. Interesting how this stuff can be made.

Good to have, if you are trained first
I have LOTS of experience with explosives in the military. So I got this book because I have never seen a good technique for making homemade blasting caps. I did notice the changes meant to get people hurt if they actually try making these. The only one I will mention is, DO NOT apply as must pressure as is mentioned in the book to packing the HIGHLY SENSITIVE explosive material in the casing. For the rest, go get trained in explosives first and then read or re-read the book and they will jump out at you.Ragnar Benson (a pen name) is a good writer, but he does mention his other books way too many times. To the point of you are getting into the info he is teaching and then throws in "for more information read my book xxxxx". Then you get that book and it says the same thing about the book you read that sent you to the next one. The copy I received was missing a section. My suspicion is that it was deleted from the books after original publishing because I have seen the same section missing in other copies I have looked at, to include copies online. The section missing covers the creation of a pressure activated booby-trap trigger.

High on info, low on BS
This little book is packed with good stuff. Sure, there are a few anectdotes, but theyr'e funny and informative. I'd say this is the most valuable book out there for it's purpose. Actually I think it's the only book out there on improvised blasting caps. If your'e just getting into explosives I would not recommend this book, you'd be too tempted to take the shortcut and try to make these things. It would be far more rewarding to get your explosives manufacturing license and buy the caps to detonate your homemade goodies. Experiment with industrial caps, light one off on it's own somewhere and then decide if you'd really like to try and make them. I would however, recommend owning this book. Some of you may know a few recipes for making explosives, but how many of you would know how to make a blasting cap in an emergency? I wouldn't rely on shooting at an explosive for detonation.

Two Stars
Sketchy at best... Bought for research purposes. Do not try anything in this book if you value your life.
