Veritasium Snatoms Expansion Kit - Magnetic Molecule Building Set for Chemistry Teachers and Students

Love building molecules with these. Got them for bio teacher and enthusiast wife, but my 3 yo and I love them too. Makes a good useful model for many (but not all) molecules and types. The multibond pieces are especially well thought out. There is a limit on how big molecules can be without some kind of support, but it's satisfyingly large. I've made molecules like glucose and even adenosine diphosphate or a single nucleotide (with substitutions for a couple oxygens and a nitrogen) if we were careful. I would highly recommend for a high school or intro chem teacher. If you need to be able to do "everything" get a ball and stick model, but this is very easy to use for as good a model as it is.

Love the idea behind the product! The plastic case however is not durable, has issues stacking, and one of the pieces that latches the plastic containers together broke as I opened it. So the actual snatoms are great... But now I need something else to carry them in.

I wish the magnetic attraction was stronger so the 'bonds' wouldn't come apart so easily and the molecules would stay together better. Otherwise, I have no complaint. I like that I don't have to use jelly candy and toothpicks anymore, or the stick and ball models where the sticks are hard to remove and snap.

Super cool my 5 year old loves them and we take good care of them. So happy with my purchase.

We bought our Snatoms back in 2015 when Derek did his start up. We LOVE them! We homeschool...and Chemistry isn’t my strong suit, so I was looking for all the help I could get. My 9 and 11 year old made all sorts of molecules with the snatoms, then looked them up to see what they had actually made. With my 16 year old starting college in the fall, chemistry is on his class list. We are excited to bust out the snatoms again! ❤️❤️
