Wolf ToothPrecision-Machined Seatpost Clamp

I decided to switch from a QR seatpost clamp to the Wolf Tooth Precision-Machined Seatpost Clamp 31.8/32mm as I’ve installed a dropper post. I no longer need the QR clamp to move the seat up & down during my rides. Also, hopefully, this will make it a bit harder for someone looking to get a free dropper post.First off, the clamp looks great. Made in USA. The edges are clean, precise & the finish along w/the logo look awesome.I’m not a “weight weenie”, but for those who are or who are just interested, the 31.8/32mm clamp weighed in at 18g. The stock QR clamp that I removed weighed 52g. I was pretty surprised at the weight difference (on the scale not the trail).The clamp works well & was easy to install. The clamp has a lip on the top edge that rest on the top of the tube, slide in your seat post & then tighten the clamp down. That’s it. I’ve ridden every day for a week, double track, single track & downhill, no slipping, rotation or any other issues w/the clamp.Overall I’m very happy w/the Wolf Tooth Seatpost Clamp. If you’re looking for a new clamp, I can recommend this one. Just be sure to measure the outside diameter of your seatpost to get the correct size.Thank you for taking the time to read my review, I hope you found it helpful.

It's a seatpost clamp. So take your pick of the many out there. What drew me to this, is that it is USA made. I also have several other of their products, such as few of their tools (pack wrench/pack whip/pack pliers and the innovative pack hanger alignment tool) which are all of the highest quality and something to consider if you want to get away from the parktool bandwagon (no hate just something different than the rest of the pack ; ) I do have some of their product as well). Overall happy. Might swap the silver bolt for a black one.

I bought this 31.8mm for my ELECTRA TOWNIE 7d E-bike conversion.I have a thudbuster st and a cloud 9 seat with the original quick release seatpost clamp and i wanted something that had more clamping power and something to make it harder to steal my $200+ seatpost and seat comboPlus its made in the usa so i feel better spending a few more $ for a clamp.With they offered one with a security torx screw for theft deterrent

This is my second one of these clamps. I replaced the quick release style after installing a dropper post. This second one is for a commuter bike. No need to adjust the seat once set.The style for the bolt and pivots used to close this clamp allow proper geometry ensuring maximum effective clamping.CNC machined aluminum is sublime as with all Wolf Tooth products I've used.

Like others, my bike came with a quick-release clamp for the seat post. I tightened that thing down so much that it hurt my palm to close the lever, but it still sank on every ride. Since I'm the only person riding my bike, I have no need for a quick-release clamp, so I ordered this Wolf Tooth clamp to replace it. I've only had to set this clamp once, and the seat has not sunk one bit after several months.

OK so this is a beautiful seat post clamp. I got in gold to coordinate with a gold chain on my black fixie build. Really puts the finishing touch on the build. Its lightweight and expertly crafted - a beautiful piece of bike jewelry. With that said - I just ordered my third one because my measurements have been inaccurate. Make sure you measure with a caliper or are super sure of what your ruler is telling you - the top of my seat tube is tapered a bit towards the top which threw the measurement off and these clamps are very precisely made so there's not a ton of tolerance between the different sizes. As an example, I have 2 bikes with 27.2 seat posts, the steel frame fixie bike needs the 29.8mm size and my aluminum frame Bianchi fit the 31.8mm.

I had problems with my dropper post sliding down when using the proper 7nm torque. I was able to get by with a higher torque, but once I got this, it applies more even pressure around the tube and holds solid with 7nm. Plus it looks good. A little pricey.

Looks and works great. Matches very well with orange I9 Hydra Classic rear hub and Wolf Tooth front axle. Easy to install with internally routed dropper post, loosen the lever from the handle bars to create some slack, then just fully remove the screw from the clamp and slide the cable through. .... set it and forget it. Be sure to follow manufacturer sizing guidelines. I have a 31.6 seat post, but the 34.9/35mm clamp fit my 2016 DB Catch 2 frame perfectly.
