MLG Tools Replacement Blades ET1501, incl. 1 Piece Trimming Blade and 1 Piece Grass Shear Blade

Compact little trimmer. The blades are sharp and this little trimmer is light and fully capable of trimming around rocks, poles, etc. The additional shrub blade is small (cutting area 4.5") but it will do the job on smaller, new growth, type bushes such as a Boxwood, Abelia or Pianese. It does have a problem with smaller growth that is well established (i.e., brown twigs, etc.).Blade change-out is fairly easy and requires removing the bottom plate with a lift and pull type motion.It has a dual "on" switch that requires you push the top button over (see picture) and then start the trimmer with the trigger. This is easy and uneventful. This unit does not "lock" in place and both must be depressed at all times or the unit will stop.The trimmer run time of 30 - 45 minutes continuous use appears accurate. Based on approx 45 minutes of non-continuous use, my recharge time was generally around one hour.Overall, a nice little trimmer. Hopefully it will be restocked and replacement parts made available.

Works very nicely. It's small, and lightweight. A single charge (with the supplied cord plugged into a wall outlet then connected to the battery-pack) lasts me about 30 minutes of trim time. I trim my topiary bushes. It's good for light trim work. Buyer, and user, beware: Handle this item with the utmost of caution, the blades are sharp! Keep the battery-pack stored separately from the trimmer so accidents aren't possible. There is a safety switch which is annoying to use as it must continually be kept depressed with one finger, while at the same time, one must pull the trigger to activate the blades with another finger. Hence, my fingers get tired and begin to ache. I guess tired and aching is better than losing a digit!

This is a decent lightweight hand trimmer for small jobs. I'm a middle-aged lady and have no trouble using it. It has never choked (jammed) on me since I only use it as it is intended to be used. Since it is small and hand-held, it is not meant for hardcore projects such as trimming or shaping large shrubs. My only issue is if you open the chamber underneath, it is impossible to put it back together again. I opened the chamber thinking it housed the battery. Never could get it to close properly so I ended up buying an additional trimmer (same style and type).

For the money it works quite well. I live in an urban environment but have a reasonably large outdoor deck with big pots filled with plants and corners that occasionally sprout weeds. I've only thus far used the clipper attachment and not the larger trimmer but so far so good. The instructions were basic and poor but its not all that hard to figure out how to use this now is it. I charged her up and got going. the clipper clipped well, didn't clump up, and only choked on thicker and woodier branches and stems. Weeds were no problem. Using this unit for about a half an hour I experienced no battery drain.

I don't have a huge yard, but these were able to last through about 3/4 of the work I needed to do. Both cutters work well. I'm able to keep up on the minor bush trimming without getting out the big hedge clippers. They're strong enough to cut grass, weeds and small branches on my barberry bushes. If the piece is larger than 1/8" or so, they'll stop. It may cut you, but you wouldn't lose a finger to them.All in all a good trimmer, I would recommend to anyone looking for a simple trimmer.

Read the other reviews before buying this grass shear was hoping for a better product blade seems dull even though it is new do like how the battery comes out of the back and how it charges better then my weedeater shear. The weedeater worked better then this model ate grass better then this one also. Have not tried the shrubber blade may not have enough power to do the job.

As noted by the other reviewers this product works very well for light trimming especially of topiary. Be aware however that the instructions that come with the unit make little sense. Also, and more important, the clipper does not lock on. You have to keep the trigger depressed at all times or it shuts the clipper off. Otherwise I am pleased with this purchase. I suggest light oil on the blades after use.

I like these powered hand cutters. They cut the weeds and grasses growing along fences or walls or amongst stones. I haven't used the hedge pruning blade yet so can't report on it, but the fork like blades work well. I have a variety of weed grasses that don't pull easily and I don't like using weed killer sprays so I found these cutters that are more than a match for those pesky grasses. They won't cut branches but that isn't why I bought them. My hands got tired of squeezing the scissor action cutters I own and these are definitely easier, faster and better. My hand still gets tired, but I can use a full battery charge, about 30 minutes, and my hand doesn't feel totally worn out. I bought a second battery so I can do more than 30 minutes and I'm glad I did because it takes over 2 hours to charge the battery.

The trimmer is well made overall and does the light hedge trimming perfectly ok.The longer blades are ok but tended to use the smaller blades as I was contouring complicated shapes in a box hedge.Battery life ok but could always use more !!..great little tool though.happy with it..

Not used the hedge clipper attachment yet, but the small clipper works really well on the small area of grass I need to keep trimmed back. The battery was easy to uninstall to charge and the full charge lasted about 40mins.

Ideal for my smallish garden, easily edges grass and the ability to rotate the clipper head is excellent. Saves messing about with noisy unreliable strimmers and trailing cables. Highly recommended.

This is great I used this to help with my arch as it was over grown. Did a great job.
