Easy Up Standing Aid, Mobility Aid, Assist Handle for Couch, Chair, Sofa

This simple device made it easy for my husband to get up from a low bed. It's light weight, folds up, so that it takes no space to house, but it does need a better name. We just referred to it as the "armrest," because it makes an armchair out of any flat chair, couch, or bed. Simple and incredibly useful.

My mother needed something to help her get up from the couch after she had been lying down. This worked really well. This is the only product that I could find that offered mobility and did not require being slid under a cushion. It made it ideal for what she needed. It is lightweight enough for a 92 year old with extreme numb and arthritic hands to use. It sits beside the couch when not in use, which is fine. Iy be nice if they could find a way to keep the sturdiness, but get it to fold up to slide under the furniture or be less visible. Otherwise, great product.

This does help somewhat, but it could use some design changes. For one thing, the bar in the back is very uncomfortable to sit on, and pushing it down into the couch makes the unit unstable. I had to buy a cushion to cover the bar. Also, the arms are low and very hard. I have bruises on my elbows from hitting the bars repeatedly. They should be covered with something cushioned. And because the arms are low, it is hard to get the proper position to push yourself up gracefully. It’s a good idea, but not executed well.

I bought this item to help a family member awaiting a hip replacement. It is NOT adjustable, and as such, not usable for someone who is of normal height. The bar in the back is uncomfortable and when attempting to use the "high" (not at all high) arm it places the person in a very awkward position and could cause a fall forward. Had I known this was not returnable, particularly when I found all the problems with the item, I would NEVER have bought it. Save your money and use it toward a more reliable product.

This is a good aid to assist someone to stand, but it is a little awkward to use. You really need a second person to navigate the product for the person standing.

I HAVE A HIP REPLACEMENT COMING UP SO I HAVE BEEN PRACTICING KEEPING MYSELF FROM BENDING OVER BEYOND A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. GETTING UP OUT OF BED, CHAIRS, THE SOFA, ETC... I WAS BENDING FORWARD ALOT. AND NEEDED SOMETHING TO HELP ME NOT TO DO THAT. THIS WORKS WELL. A GOOD PORTION IS SIMPLY SEEING IT IS A STRONG REMINDER NOT TO BEND FORWARD , BUT IT IS ALSO COMFORTABLE TO USE.I THOUGHT THE ANGLE - TALLER AT THE BACK AND LOWER IN THE FRONT - WOULD MAKE IT TOO LOW IN FRONT TO BE USEFUL. I WAS WRONG. THAT ANGLE WORKS TO ANGLE YOUR HANDS AND ARMS TOWARD THE FRONT AND IN THE DIRECTION YOU ARE TRYING TO GO, SO ACTUALLY HELPS.WOULD RECOMMEND

My husband’s OT had given him the use of one of these standing assists. When we found it to be very helpful, I ordered one. However, I didn’t pay enough attention to the diameter of the rubber feet on this particular model. Once we received it, we found it didn’t provide a sound base for my husband to be able to push up onto. Because this particular item could not be returned, we donated to the OT for their department’s use and ordered another like the one she originally loaned us. My opinion is that it’s a rather poor design unless it’s being used on a very firm surface.

Perfect.....nothing to assemble....fits on Lazyboy recliner seat perfectly and provides needed support rising out of recliner. Sturdy and portable and light weight....highly recommended.
