Fragile and brittle connector joint, microphonics ruin otherwise good cable.
This is not a review of the seller, but the cable itself.Pro: It's a replacement cable for MDR-EX6/8/1000 series that won't cost an arm and a leg. It sounds pretty darn good for what's its worth. Might be a placebo effect, but slightly more defined trebles and bass compared to the stock cable. Having a replacement cable for these is terrific after about 8 years of ownership (give or take?).Con: The joint connecting to the earbuds, are super fragile, made with cheap plastic. The first set lasted about a 2 weeks or so, the replacement maybe 4 days. The brittle plastic (as you can see in the pictures) broke off, exposing the solder points. Easy fix would be using something like Sugru or clear epoxy, etc. For $40, however, I expect not to fix the item as soon as it comes in.The cable is super microphonic as well, so expect to hear every single details of your cable brushing your clothing.I like that there are other replacement cables for the MDR-EX600/800/1000. Unfortunately, the cons severely outweigh the pros of the cable. IF I have to make immediate improvements and fixes to make it usable then it's not really worth my time or my money.
