Beautiful book, excellent content
Eileen Hogan continues to enjoy a long and distinguished career as an artist, teacher, book designer and advocate of the importance of art education. This book, published by the Yale Center for British Art, was produced to celebrate Eileen's major exhibition at the Yale Center in 2019. It is a beautiful collection of almost 60 years of work covering landscape and urban painting, portraiture and specialist book design. Her work just goes on getting better and better - a wonderful talent!

What a sense of colour, what a sense of place, beautiful artist.
Eileen Hogan is new to me although we are about the same age. I learned of her exhibition in the US through ArtDaily News. What a fabulous book! She shares so much of her process, her inspiration and her insights. Another great addition to my art book case.

Terrific artist - terrific book!
Eileen Hogan Personal GeographiesI happily give the full 5 star + rating to this beautifully produced book about Eileen Hogan and her extraordinary artistic career which largely focuses on painting the flora and fauna of wonderful private and public gardens in and around London and Great Britain. The reproductions in the book are numerous and so inviting for close observation. Eileen Hogans paintings are richly layered with exquisite details that create a distinct sense of atmosphere and are embed with a strong sense of seeing deeply into the nature of plant life with in cultivated garden spaces.Hogans unique figurative and portrait paintings are as intriguing as her landscapes. There are many excellent essays through out the book which examine her career and the uniqueness of her vision. This book and the essays accompany a major exhibition of Hogans work presented by the Yale Center of British Art in New Haven.Terrific Artist - terrific book.

She’s a contemporary Master!
Eileen Hogan is one of the finest painters working today. Her exquisitely crafted and intimately conceived paintings are absolutely breathtaking! It’s a breath of fresh air to see a contemporary artist receiving acclaim whose work isn’t violent, in your face or gimmicky. Her work is the exact opposite, in fact, and will help those who are fortunate enough to see her work become more fully aware of the sublime beauty which surrounds us.The exhibition at the Yale Center for British Art was fantastic and this catalog beautifully represents it.

book is bound upside down and backwards!
It's a lovely book, but it would have been nice if it had been bound correctly. It is bound upside down and backwards. I would give the book 5 stars for content and 1 star for binding. But out of respect for the content, I won't post a 1 star rating.
