This is the permanent marker you need
This is the only pen that I have found to hold up in all kinds of outdoor weather. I use this marker with metal "labels" to document the names of our outdoor plants, etc.

Plant label
I like using these to mark labels for plants. The paint lasts for a long time, not like permanent markers. The tips could be finer so I can put more on the plant labels.
