TYC 12-5155-00 Ford Focus Passenger Side Replacement Side Marker Lamp

I had a classic Yellow Ford focus coup 2001 and not long before giving it up I installed LED tail / brake lights and WOW they looked so much better and more visible on the high mount pillars. They also flashed much more often because the electrical system wasn't designed for low draw LEDs !

This was very easy to install. It took about 10 seconds once I had removed the old side marker.• The light bulb from the car only fits one way into this side marker so you can't get it wrong.• You insert the light bulb, and then after it's inserted you rotate it to secure the connection.• Then, you push this side marker into the small recess on the car. The fit is tight enough that don't need to secure it with anything else.------------------------------The only thing that took any time at all was removing the old side marker.• First, I located the light bulb and separated it from the old side marker by rotating it and then pushing it back out of the side marker.• Then, I just broke the old side marker into pieces so that I could push the two mounting rods through the holes they were mounted on. There were two nuts on the inside of the car that fastened to the mounting rods. I couldn't seem to remove them, and this is why I ended up just breaking the old side marker into pieces using pliers and a screwdriver. If you do this, you will probably want to use a towel to protect the car from damage.------------------------------This also came with an extra light bulb plus its housing. I didn't need it, but some people might.

Nothing bad to say about this side marker lamp. Looks great. I expect it to last. The one I had on my car broke around the bulb socket. I suspect the plastic deteriorated and became brittle due to heat from the bulb. I'm using LED's now and hope heat won't be much of an issue.

It was the right part for my Ford car and very easy to install. I had called the Ford dealer in my area and their price was $40.00, and I had to wait a month because they did not have it in stock. I was surprised when I was able to getit in less than a week from Amazon for a fraction of the quoted price. (Less than $7.00 with prime delivery.)

Quality product. The side marker snapped right in with no fuss. It fits tight and exact.Note that these do come with the lamp housing (and even a bulb). However, the harness connector sticks straight out instead of the factory 90 degree angle. This is not a show stopper by any means; you should have ample slack in the wiring harness. But for simplicity, I just reused the existing lamp housing. It twisted into place perfectly.Finally, for anyone doing this the first time, the factory side markers might be held on by self-threading "nuts". These screw on to the plastic guide posts from behind and seem largely unnecessary. The replacement side marker fits so tight that I didn't bother trying to put them back on.
