I've just finished writing a review for the replacement filters with the same title...and since they'll probably read almost the same, I apologize if you end up reading them both. Please note that I purchased the black unit, not the white. I really love this unit. Yes, it was the equivalent of almost one month's rent for me. And the filters are pretty pricey since I replace them every 8 months (maybe less often now that I'm in a cleaner environment). But it's been SO worth it. Like I said in my filter review - I consider this to be a preventative healthcare investment, like the quote I've seen around: "Organic food might be more expensive a lot of the time, but have you ever tried pricing cancer?" Again, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to upload links, but I've created an imgur album with pictures of the old medium particle (2nd of 5) filter and HEPA (3rd of 5) filter next to the new replacements (4 and 5 are dark colored and come after the HEPA so the difference isn't really visible and I think it's just that their effectiveness diminishes over time). These were being replaced after the unit ran continuously on auto mode, in my ~150 sq ft bedroom that was located one building away from Ventura Blvd in the San Fernando Valley over an 8 month period. This was the 3rd set of filters that have been through this unit (I purchased it in 2010). The bedroom door was always kept closed, but the windows were drafty old jalousie style windows. The album is here: [...] . Please note that I vacuumed the large particle (1st of 5) filter at least weekly, since it does a bang up job of collecting dust and pet hair. If they remove the link, and you'd like it, just let me know and I'd be happy to send it to you. I'm really, really glad it removed all that smog from the air! I kept it between the (blackout curtained) windows and my bed, as close to my bed as I could put it and let it still operate properly. My roommate was always hoarse with red, watery eyes, and a runny nose in the mornings, and he's not very sensitive. I hardly ever had problems and I've had severe allergies since middle school...they would only act up when I left the bedroom/went outside. My pets who slept in bed next to me in my room where I was almost 24/7 for several years (medical) also did not sneeze nearly as much as or wheeze like his pets did. I'm in Phoenix now and not near a smoggy road (and it's not as smoggy here, anyway), so maybe next filter change, the filters will come up desert dust red instead of smog black? Now I'm in a one bedroom, and I keep it in the living room with me, next to my chair, then move it by my bed at night, so that my pets (who shadow me...they deserve clean air too!) and myself always have the freshest air. Don't forget to clean the sensor every now and then...and don't be surprised if this kicks it into high for a few minutes when you do as you kick all the dust up around it. I would really get the (very lightly alcohol dampened) cotton swab all up behind in all the available holes near the sensor (if you get a unit, you'll see what I mean), at all angles you can get it in there, as deep as you can get it in there. I apologize for how dirty that sounded. I do this and I have pulled out sizeble pet hair dust bunnies since the dust accumulates behind and around the sensor area (it helps to spin the cotton swab as you do this to really grab the bunny and pull it out). Note: I'm sure RabbitAir would advise against doing this but I've always done it without shorting anything or electrocuting myself or damaging my unit, and I want to keep as much of that from getting deeper inside the unit where it could really potentially clog things up as I can. Just be gentle...like you're cotton swabbing inside your ears after a shower. Don't blow out your unit's ear drum. It is noisy on high but it is very rare that high kicks on for me. It only happens if A.) I spray a perfume in the room (so I imagine if you use scented room sprays, it would definitely set it off) B.) an e-cig is used in the room (it really doesn't like that vapor), C.) I kick up a lot of dust somehow, D.) there is a fire nearby and it smells smoky or I extinguish a candle (it's fine while scented soy candles burn, however). It's actually kind of cool because I'll know if something funky is going on with my air before I can smell it, because the unit will kick on full blast and the indicator light turns scary red instead of healthy blue. Otherwise, it operates on low, and I think it's very quiet. I suppose at first you might notice it, since it's a new noise, but I never even notice that it's on now. I think this is a quality, nice looking unit (people ask me what it is) that's going to last for many more years, and I'm very glad I made the investment. If you have any questions, leave me a comment and hopefully I'll be able to answer it for you.

Allergy sufferers here...don't know how we lived without these before now
What can I say? The Rabbit Air MinusA2 has been a godsend for us. We live in a really heavy juniper area...to which both my spouse and I are quite allergic, and the allergy season for that lasts about 3 months each year. Spouse gets it worse than me, but it's pretty miserable for both of us. Me, I then get the double-whammy of ragweed, chamisa and other late-blooming pollens which are really bad. Both seasons, when my sinuses are screwed up, I'm far more prone to migraine headaches. We decided to take the plunge and, after a lot of online research, buy two units -- one for each of the rooms in which we spend most of our time each day. (We may yet purchase a third if finances hold up, to cover the middle of our open-plan house.) The air purifiers arrived in original manufacturer boxes, with the 'odor control' filter as the extra optional customized fourth stage filter. Suits us just fine. Boxes were sturdy, with styrofoam inserts to hold the purifiers. There were three separate sets of instructions on how to set up the purifier -- a Quick Start single-pager, a longer user guide, and also a large illustrative sticker on the inside of the front cover. The only real hassle was removing all the plastic on each of the filter stages save the pre-filter. (Note: You GOTTA remove the plastic filter wrappers or the purifier won't work at all!) Took care to note which way was marked 'Front' on each filter component on re-assembly, put the front cover on and set it to running. We both noticed the purifiers on Auto mode ran at pretty high speed and indicated poor air quality for about the first 10-15 minutes before quieting down. Then, after that, they went to higher speed maybe every 20 minutes or so for perhaps 20-30 seconds tops. Now, after owning them for a while now, we've noticed neither of them is running at higher speed nearly as often. (Although they nearly always react when we walk near them, probably because we're raising dust from the pile carpeting they're on.) Over the last week, the difference for us has been dramatic. Oh, we still suffer the allergies, but we can easily tell the difference between when we're outside versus inside, in terms of being snuffly and having itchy eyes. Another common effect during heavy pollen season is we accumulate a lot of house-dust, most visible on polished surfaces like my desk. The day after I fired up the Rabbit Air, I dusted my entire home office...and days later, it's basically still mostly dust free. Pros: - Really purifies the air, to a degree cheaper air purifiers and filters just can't match in my experience - Have noticed general household odor reduction overall, especially after the purifier's been doing its thing after we've been cooking - Attractive unit design, and I like the idea it can be mounted on a wall; still haven't quite decided whether to do that here though - Definitely dead silent on the lowest fan speed, just audible on low. Can definitely hear it on medium or high (and of course Turbo), but it's not an unpleasant noise by our standard; certainly no more noisy than when the heat pump central air comes on. - Rather energy efficient for an air purifier Cons: - Other people have mentioned this: It would be nice to have an automatic / pollen mode that ignores the light levels entirely and just stays active, including with the mood light and air quality sensor light. However, at least in Pollen mode, the unit will change speed based on impurity levels detected, even if the lights won't stay on. (Given pollen is heaviest at dawn and dusk, that's the setting we use on both units.) - Yeah, it's very pricey for an air purifier. But after the research I did, "You get what you pay for" seemed to be one of the truisms. Only if one jumps to the way, way more expensive (more than a thousand bucks) models were the results and performance noted to be better than the Rabbit Air models. When when I looked at the models priced in the 150-300 range, results and reviews were mixed, but I was concerned at how many were of Chinese manufacture and accompanied by reviews that dinged them for noise, durability, manufacturing quality, and effectiveness. (Also did NOT want to buy any purifier that had filters reported to out-gas on initial use. That would not be acceptable at all.) There's almost no point in buying a sub-hundred dollar purifier...as we've already learned with some of the other cheap ones we've bought over the years and found they didn't really help at all. Just Is: - I know some folks have said replacement filters are expensive, and they have a point, but at the same time it's still competitive in pricing versus replacement filters for other makes and models of air purifiers at roughly this purifier-quality level, and these ones are supposed to last about a year. I for one plan to disassemble and clean what I can -- washing the pre-filter and vacuuming the others -- about every 3 months; pre-filter monthly, as recommended, of course. Word is Rabbit Air has promotions every now and then which can reduce the replacement filter prices somewhat. But seriously, when I divided 'time between replacement' by the price of those replacement filters, the Rabbit Air is cheaper than most -- particularly since a lot of those have you replacing every 3 months. - For example, the Rabbit Air is often compared to Blue Air models. Well, the latter cost more, use way more energy, are much louder, and their filters are significantly more expensive. Would we buy these again, if given a chance to reconsider? Yes, no question. The only unknown at this moment is just how reliable and durable these air purifiers will be over the long haul. I would definitely revisit this review if something goes wrong and we're not able to resolve it. For now though, we're both enjoy much better sleep, and as I said the allergies aren't gone, seeing as how our house isn't and can't be hermetically sealed -- but the allergies are quite manageable now. Also looking forward to having to do a tad less dusting around here...

I recently purchased the Rabbit Air MinusA2, and it has been an absolute game-changer for the air quality in my home. The improvement in air freshness and cleanliness was noticeable from the moment I started using it. The MinusA2 boasts a sleek, modern design that is not only highly effective at purifying air but also adds a stylish touch to any room. Its compact size allows for versatile placement options, including on a stand or wall-mounted, fitting seamlessly into various spaces. The air purifier's 6-stage filtration system, consisting of a pre-filter, medium filter, BioGS HEPA filter, customized filter, activated carbon filter, and negative ion generator, is impressively thorough. It effectively captures a wide array of airborne pollutants like dust, allergens, and odors, resulting in significantly fresher and cleaner air. A noteworthy aspect of the MinusA2 is its quiet operation. It runs so discreetly, even at higher settings, that it ensures a peaceful environment, whether I'm working, sleeping, or just unwinding. The MinusA2's smart features add to its appeal. The air quality indicator that changes color to reflect current air quality and the auto mode that adjusts fan speed automatically provide convenience and peace of mind, knowing that the air quality is continuously being optimized. Additionally, the informative video on the product page is a great resource. It demonstrates the range of sounds recorded at different power levels of air filtration, giving a clear idea of what to expect in terms of noise. It also showcases the ease of remote control operation, highlighting the user-friendly aspect of this air purifier. In summary, the Rabbit Air MinusA2 has thoroughly impressed me. Its combination of efficiency, quietness, and smart features, along with its aesthetic appeal, makes it a highly recommendable choice for anyone seeking to enhance their indoor air quality. It's an investment that pays off in creating a healthier and more comfortable living environment.

Seems to work flawlessly. I bought the unit as there are 2 major construction outside of my apartment window. Tuned to auto mode, the unit senses congested air as soon as the bulldozer or the road construction start for the day. Ina a matter of minutes the indicator light return to a normal blue and works to keep it blue throughout the day. My only initial issue was that I had thought I had ordered the smartphone version o fRapbit Air 2 version but realized after checking with the online support service that I had not. In retrospect, I find no need for the smartphone app version as leaving the product on auto is fine with me because it is so responsive, My major criteria in seledting this model were: square footage coverage, looks, and quietness. RabbitAir minus A2 scores on all three. Finally, phone support service was prompt and helpful as I explored the necessity to return the automatic version for the smartphone version,

I did a lot of research before deciding on this air purifier. One of my main concerns was a purifier that would not give off any toxins while purifying the air as I own a small parrot, and I know how sensitive their respiratory systems are. I generally have it set on auto and I love the way it ramps up the speed of the fan if the sensor detects any change in the air quality. I do have breathing issues and although I have only been using this for about 2 weeks I do notice a difference. I have it in my bedroom at night and is so quiet that I cannot even hear it. If I am going to be home during the day I move it into the living area. It is not heavy and transports easily. So many pluses for this purifier. I love the style of it and should add that it came so well packaged. Each filter was clearly marked in what order it should be placed after the plastic was removed. Great product and very happy so far. I now must add that after using the air purifier for 2 years and changing the filters as they suggest once a year, it is working perfectly and keeps the air clean for my breathing issues allowing me to wake up in the morning without having any breathing issues at all. I do run it 24/7 and it uses very little power. I love this machine!

I have been running this unit in my bed room for about a year and a half now and i am blown away by the quality of it. I have moved it around to friends places and it has drastically help friends with lung issues. Love the fact that you can turn off the ionization as well as the mood light. The noise is very minimal at all times. Great odour sensing on auto mode. Have noticed that during night mode that the fan speed goes up and down which can be annoying but it is helping me sleep in clean air; so i will just deal with that one. Filters last a year when i run it on auto mode year round. Every month or so clean out the pre-filter and you are golden. If your looking for an efficient and high quality air purifier i would say that you found the one. put in the cart and get ready to breathe clean air.
