For centuries, weathervanes have been used to show wind direction and as a decoration on barns, cupolas, steeples, and rooftops. Vibrantly colored and easy on the eye, this painted rooster metal weather vane brings a charming farmhouse touch to any outdoor space. Inspired by the famous, classic weather vane design, this garden wind vane features a crowing rooster in vibrant colors on top of a fletched arrow. Two black directional arms display the four points of the compass—North, South, East, and West—so you can tell which direction the wind is coming from with a glance. Made of heavy-duty iron, this colorful metal wind vane (also known as weathercock) supports different mounting options. It comes with a convenient garden step-on stake, so you have everything you need to install it in a flowerbed, a planter or into the ground within minutes. Rooftop mounting brackets and hardware are not in cluded. When installing, please ensure your location does not obstruct air flow, the directional arms with letters need to be interlocked securely and aligned withe the geographic directions of North, South, East and West. The black arrow with the rooster ontop is ready to spin when the wind is sufficiently strong, while the directionals remain stationary. Ideal for year-round outdoor use, it makes a suitable pick for gardeners and those who want to know the wind direction. It also makes a thoughtful housewarming gift. Review: Good product - Easy to put together. Looks great in the yard Review: Colorful option to the mundane weather vanes and with the price. - My husband wanted a weather vane to top of the one tree he cut back 1/2 way down and he came up with the need for a weathervane. When I looked through the choices, he and I both agreed on the colorful rooster !

Satisfied For The Price
The product came as advertised, in good condition. It is somewhat flimsy, but so far has held up ok. It is not very functional as a wind direction indicator, but is more of a decoration for the yard. Worth the price if you are just looking for decoration.

Works like a charm!
This windvane is really cute and easy to install (just make sure you have the direction settings correctly alighned to their respective N/E/S/W). It was a nice little much-needed addition to my garden. Product arrived ahead of schedule, too. Would recommend!

Was cute, not now.
It was cute when it arrived but never turned with the wind and now, one month later, the paint is washed off.

The perfect topping
We stuck it on top of some family street signs. I added a little paint to make it look weathered, cut off the length of the pole that I didn't need and we love it! Couldn't be happier. It doesn't align itself with the wind because there's too much friction in the swivel but that didn't matter for us. For the price it was just what we wanted!

Something to crow about
So far, this appears to be an excellent value and an attractive addition to our courtyard. My only complaint is that it comes with a limited-height stand, with no easy, seamless way to extend it, but I just drilled a hole into the end of a pole, sawed a cross-slot and tightened a clamp around it. I was concerned the swivel action might be limited, but that's not the case, and the proud rooster is always crowing into the wind. (A fun bonus: when it first appeared, a flock of curious towhees perched in a nearby tree to see what this new bird on the block was all about, some even inspecting up close, but they soon lost interest.)

I can't recommend this
The weathervane required far too much custom work to get it to function. The two sections that screw together had a 1/4 gap, which meant the compass points EWNS just spun freely. Had to make a customer 1/4 rubber spacer to take up that gap and keep the compass points from spinning. Then the rooster on the top did not spin freely, it got stuck on the pin it rests on. Had to fabricate a small pivot to go up the tube. Then the co-sell recommended roof mount has a tube which is way way way too big for the pole the weathervane comes with. Had to fabricate a sleeve to join the mount to the weathervane. It's all working now, but really not acceptable.
