This is a super sturdy and effective toilet auger. It is well worth reading the instructions through thoroughly a few times before using. The extension feature is what did the job of unblocking my very badly blocked loo. I'd tried everything else before deciding to spend money on this. I was really concerned that it wouldn't work and would be a waste of over £50 but I needn't have worried. It takes a certain knack to get the cable end up through the u bend at the back of the toilet bowl at first, and may take a few goes...I took it in and out a few times before realising how to extend the handle fully and then, boom! One unblocked loo. Finally managing to get it unblocked on Christmas Eve was a tremendous relief. Was dreading Christmas with a clogged up loo. It's reassuring to buy something that actually does the job properly.

Our toilet regularly blocks up and inevitably we then spend lots of time, using the plunger in conjunction with various toilet products which are meant to unclog the toilet. I bought this as I read that this is a tool that plumbers use to clear blockages, so thought it would be an investment and would be able to clear blockages myself, rather than paying the plumber to come out and clear them, when there is a serious blockage.I remember thinking that although it has 6 feet of cable, this would probably be a feature which would be nice to have, however not essential and very rarely used. Well how wrong I was ! The 6 feet extension features has come into its own on around three occasions recently to clear blockages in the down pipe (matted together wet wipes).It's worth pointing out that there is a technique to using this device which takes quite a few goes to get the hang of and master, especially extending it beyond it's normal 3 feet to 6 feet, however once you get the hang of it, it works like a dream. When you see it fishing out what's been clogging your toilet up and the toilet goes back to normal, flushing normally you realise that it's worth every penny and more !

Having purchased an ineffectual poorly made £15 Toilet Auger from another seller decided to purchase this as we were having no joy in unseating a blockage. The K3 version only had a 3 foot spring and this an extendable 3ft addition which the manufacturers website implied would be handy as most blockages occurred away from cistern in down pipe, very glad we spent the extra money as that was exactly where the blockage was.Having viewed Ridgids online video tutorial ( a must to avoid damage to your cistern and how to use extension) this took less than 5 minutes to completely free up our issue with no mess whatsoever and saved a hefty bill from a drainage company or a few hours of unpleasant removal of the cistern and cleaning of pipework.Compared to anything else I could find from local sellers or had purchased online this really is a beast, large auger head, solid thick flex cable and sturdily built.Although this is the first serious blockage we have ever experienced in home ownership in 40 years that couldn’t have been dealt with by chemical means or a coat hanger, this is definitely worth having around for that ‘just in case’ situation and a rapid fix.

This is a proper bit of kit that will get the job done, much better than flimsy plastic stuff others are selling on amazon.

Bought this item after carefully looking at reviews. Had some difficulty winding the flexi-end back to its starting point. Once unravelled it seemed to not want to be put back together, with either end popping out of either end of the casing. Not quite sure if it was responsible for unblocking my toilet. Hence the rating.

This is not a cheap product, but cheap compared to calling out a plumber, who would probably bring one of these anyway. Unblocked the toliet when nothing else would.

This is a large and very strong toilet auger ("snake"). I bought it after paying a $160 plumbing bill for the clearing of a toilet drain, realizing that a single use would more than repay its cost.The auger works very well (and quickly) and its 6' length means that it can reach substantially farther into your drain system than smaller 3' augers. It can also be attached to an electric drill, if additional strength is needed. Because this item is large, you will need to find an appropriate place to store it when not in-use. It cannot be placed inconspicuously behind the toilet, as a plunger or toilet brush can.I am happy to have this as part of my DIY tool collection!

Cleared by toilet of a toothbrush that’s been in for awhile so it definitely works as intended, just needed to watch a YouTube tutorial first!
