Can this be hard wired

Yes, but the power in on the back is still 12v. You’ll need a transformer or other solution in-wall to hard wire it. LED drivers can be used and are small and cheap. Just make sure it’s 3A or more.

Does this unit allow an external amplifier with existing in-wall wires to be used as the aux input inside the wall?

It's amplifier itself, has bluetooth, mic, USB, aux functions.

This unit is a Bluetooth receiver with amplifier so it can be used with any device. The unit uses a 12volt dc power supply. As long you provide it the 12 volts dc you will be fine. The house voltage can be whatever your adapter takes to convert to 12 volts.

Where do i connect speakers ? what is max impedance for speakers?

There is a green terminal at the back of wall plate,could connect 4Ohm speakers.
