The adhesive that holds the metal connector to the plastic sheath was insufficient and allowed the cable to twist and brake loose. Cable is now inoperative and only used a few times.

Bought this to program my Yeasu FT-270 HT. I had to download the Prolific driver from the website. The link to the site is on the included disc. While the disc menu is printed in Chinese the submenu/files are not. It worked perfectly. I used it along with the programming software from G4HFQ.co.uk of which I have many other of Bob's programming software and all have worked flawlessly for years. One note: make sure you thread the input all of the way into the radio port or the radio will not be able to communicate with the computer.

The cable itself if good and I can read with chirp on a Mac but it only comes with a mini cd that is useless to me as I cannot use it on my machine, I tried transferring the files via a friend and usb drive and nothing on the cd is for a Mac and nothing is labeled or named in any way you can figure out. I have very receantly asked for a link to download the Mac support files and have not recieved a response yet. I will update to five stars if they provide the support for Mac they are supposed to have with this cable. The hardware (cable) is pretty useless to me right now and I have been having trouble getting this to work with chirp as well. Better and more understandable software support for Mac would make a big difference here.osx10.12vx6r

I used this cable to program my Yaesu VX6R. Works great with the Prolific driver on Win7. It took a lot longer to receive but the build quality is very good.

Bought this to program my Yaesu VX7R. The cable connection is extremely flimsy. While plugging it into the radio the cable came completely separated from the cable.Will order another cable from a more reputable supplier.
