What gauge wire/cable to use with this?

This device plugs into a 220v outlet (English style) and converts to an American 220v style. It is rated to handle currents of up 15amps. Wires are not connected directly to it. It is plugged in on one end and plugged into on the other.

Is the receptacle end NEMA 5-15 on the end facing you when plug in? I see the end going into the wall is 6-20P, but what goes into this, is it 5-15?

It’s universal on the receptive side. I used it to plug in a BS 1363 device, but 5-15 will fit just fine.

If i use this product can i plug my 115volt portable ac into a 240volt outlet plug?

You can try it. I bought it so that I could put a regular plug AC into this specific outlet however turns out the power from the outlet would cause the ac to cut out.

6-20P outlet is not very common. What localities is it being used? What devices use 6-20P outlet?

Usually this type of plug is used for extension cord in Industry and commercial bldgs. where there are both voltages are provided. This one is for USA only

10 amp not 15 amp

The adapter I received was 10 amp not 15 amp. This is a serious problem if the amps required are over 10 amp...this could cause a plug meltdown which could cause fire or ruin your device.
