Updated, better.
Initially, I was a bit skeptical about buying it from online, with many customers saying they recieved only one volume, and another one is missing. But, since many days, I was a loyal customer from Amazon, and so I wanted to give it a try. With my surprise, The book costs only 2500, while any outside offline bookstore demands 5k (half of the price). It arrived with perfect condition, recieved both the volume, and delivery was on time.Only issue was packaging. It could and should have been better. But since, both book were in perfect condition, and with no damage apparently, so that didn't bother me that much.About the book.Safely dubbed as "The Bible" for surgery textbook, this book really stood upto its name and fame. Since UG our teachers emphasized on studying Bailey only, (But we anyway shifted to SRB 🤣), I first studied it (27th edition) during my neet PG preparation, and to my surprise , it really struck me very well. Everything was crisp, and suddenly understand even complex concepts, and invariably got close to 100 percent questions in neet PG from here only.Fast forward, I'm a surgery resident now, and every now and then, I have to study bailey. It's like a constant companion for me.What's new in 28th edition.Personally, I feel, 27th edition was a bit way concise. Here , in new edition, the author(s), try to explain as many things as possible, Though it's not a elaborate like Sabiston, but it's more than enough , even for a resident too. Many things were updated, The pancreas , stomach chapter was written entirely. In General Surgery, trauma, all chapters were updated acc to latest guidelines. Many video chapters added, and many topics from latest updates too. In other words, with all those new information, and with a bit elaborate description, the book has become way more engaging, fun to read, and ableit, understandable too.Now come to some of the questions.Do I recieve both volumes ?-- Yes, without a doubt, you'll recieve both copies too.Does the packaging was satisfactoryNope. It could have been better.Should I upgrade to 28th edition of I have 27th ??Off course, definitely. For obvious reason. All those NEET PG questions will be framed from new edition only.Even for a resident also, maximum viva question will be asked from updates only.Is it a sole preparatory book ?For Final year MBBS student, you should at least study it twice. Then only you'll realise it's importance. Almost everything will be asked from here only. And if you give any reference from Bailey, nobody will cross question you.For post MBBS and NEET PG aspiring candidatesYes, DEFINITELY. This book should be the one. Almost every question will be asked from Bailey only. Many questions were direct Bailey lines only.(Or else, you can watch Dr Rohan Khandelwal sir's video from Marrow. He generally teaches from Bailey only. His lectures are basically a concise Bailey notes)For Residents and Post PGThis is the main book, but off course this can't be the sole book for obvious reason. Alongwith this, anybody requires Sabiston, Maingot, Blumgart, devita, and SRB too.

5 stars for the book. 1 star for packaging and delivery.
As you can see by the pictures the packaging is horrible. I don't know how expensive is it to use a layer of scrap cardboard piece to package a book. Packaging was completely torn, luckily book survived with the exception of a few pages bent in the corners.Got both volumes and the 5 star rating is for the book. Substantial improvement over previous edition and correction of many mistakes of 27th ed.

The complete Surgery book for MBBS
Imported from UK. Newly edited in 2022 by FRCS professors leaves nothing unattended for MBBS surgery. it'll be useful for getting into MS entrance too. It,s been prescribed by the government medical colleges since time immemorial !(Got it for 3900, but later the fluctuating price came down to 2600. Why cheat customers?)

Simple but informative.
I wouldn't advice to learn all the systems from this book. The First volume is really helpful, it leats us get a veiw of the standard and top procedures and steps. But when it comes to the systems, some are not that informativ as expected e.g cardio and vascular surgeries but digestive, ortho, and neuro are very detailed than expected. But overall it uses simple language and with loads of diagrams especially imvestigatory diagrams and real life pictures. Its a better book.
