Bought for fun, will keep because it works!
I have been a loose leaf tea drinker for 50 years or so and I have probably tried every tea gadget there is! This may be the second best one I've ever used. I have a Breville One-Touch Tea Maker, which is not cheap but it does absolutely everything to make a perfect cup of tea. But it's not as much fun to use as this, and a product that works and also makes tea more enjoyable is a good thing! If you've had the plastic Teavana (or other brand) steepers, you're already familiar with the process. Tea goes into the steeper, water goes in next, at the end of brewing you put it on top of a mug or pot, the tea drips in and the leaves stay in the steeper... I've had at least three of those. They're plastic, which means if you make black tea often, which I do, they stain or turn cloudy. They leak and make a mess, and the plastic insert at the bottom that keeps the tea leaves in the steeper is hard to remove and clean, and hard to put back in! The Haria Largo has NONE of those issues. When you unbox it you'll feel how sturdy and heavy this thing is. The bowl is glass and large enough for tea leaves to expand and release all their flavor. Green tea, especially LOVES to expand and needs room! The base is silicone, so it will fit snugly on the stand, or on top of a pot or mug. The insert that keeps the tea leaves in the bowl is easy to pop out and clean. I saw other reviews that mentioned leakage but I have used this every day since receiving it, and haven't had that problem. The acrylic stand has a silicone pad in it so the glass pitcher that comes with it, or your teapot (I use an old teapot from IKEA, fits perfectly) won't move around and it's heat-safe so your counter or table wont be damaged. Tea is as much a treat for the eyes as the nose and mouth, and this just LOOKS NICE. I see Amazon selling the plastic steepers for as much as $35. If you are a real tea enthusiast, spend the extra and buy the Largo, with or without the stand.

Great Tea Brewer
I admit I was a bit skeptical, especially for the price. I quickly learned why I needed this after using it a couple of times. It elevated my tea game considerably and made good tea even better. It's easy to clean and sturdy. A word to the wise: don't take it apart over the garbage disposal because if that ball bearing drops in, you will not have fun getting it out, I am sure. It hasn't happened to me, but heed the advice of those before us and be careful where you take it apart. If you are wondering if it's worth spending the money on this. I think it is!

Great dripper, bad pitcher
The dripper is amazing, it works great and it's easy to use and clean. I don't like the pitcher because I always drop a little, it is not the best design. I'd buy the dripper again for sure.

Great way to brew tea
I really like this brewing system. It’s easy to put together good quality. My only quibble is that it’s a little hard to clean the tea leaves out of the upper container.

After a rocky start, I now love this thing...
I like the concept of the downward drainage of brewed tea and I read that Hario made good products so I was excited to get this. Problem:The top brewing container leaks a lot while brewing such that there's a big puddly mess around the lower pitcher while tea is brewing. Also, the release lever set up is rather weak.I have contacted Hario Customer Service today to advise on how to stop the leaking. If I don't hear back soon or can't fix the leak, I will return this purchase to Amazon.Update: I think I figured out the leak problem. If you pull out the little round screen, you'll see a metal ball that covers a drain hole. The little lever pushes up on that ball to drain the tea into the pitcher. My problem was that the entire rubber housing that encases the metal ball needs to be properly seated in the upper glass chamber or it will leak. It was leaking from the side, not the center ball hole area. I pulled the whole rubber chamber out, cleaned it, and reseated it inside the glass. The leaking has appeared to stop.UPDATE 2: Ok, after an awkward start, I now have the hang of this thing. It does not leak. I now know how to take it apart, clean it and reassemble it. Works great!
