AudioQuest 0.75m Forest OptiLink fibre optic cable TOSLINK Black

I use this Audioquest optical cable to connect my WiiM Pro to one of my DACs and stereo. Fine sound quality, and as is the case with all Toslink connections, there’s no need to worry about the cable picking up electromagnetic hum if you have a lot of cable-vomit behind your audio gear and video gear.

I ordered this to connect my CD player to a DAC. I have an Onkyo C-7030 CD player. It's a low cost player, well reviewed component I bought through Amazon a few years ago.I upgraded my turntable a few months ago. With the new turntable, I preferred the sound of the vinyl versus CDs. My CDs sounded harsh. Instead of spending a lot more money on a new CD player, I purchased a low cost, budget DAC, a Schiit Modi ($99). Using the DAC and the AudioQuest Forest Toslink, my CD's sounded much better. I heard more detail, higher bass and improved imaging.I know this review is for both the cable and the DAC and I don't have different Toslink cable to do an "A to B" comparison. However, I've used AudiQuest cables/interconnects in the past and have always been impressed with their sound. I bough the AudioQuest Forest Toslink based on previous experience with their brand. I'm happy with my purchase.

I use a few of these cables between my audio interface (Mutec format converter) and Denafrips Ares II, RME ADI-2 and between the Chord M Scaler and the Ares II. I must say whilst I do not think a toslink cable makes much difference, this one does noticably. I believe jitter performance is better compared with the stock toslink cables and in all equipment soundstage is a bit wider and there is "more rest" in the sound. I tend to believe that I also hear more details.. A-B between this cable and stock toslink cables (even the one from the M Scaler which is a higher quality than usual stock cables) shows a noticable improvement in sound.For the improvement price - quality is good. I would recommend.

I soliti superioristi ci diranno che c'è di meglio, sicuramente si, ma non a questi prezzi e probabilmente anche a prezzi decisamente superiori. Un cavo che fà la sua figura in tutta la gamma di suono, dal basso profondo ai medi agli alti. Ottimo acquisto.

I can only review this product based on my subjective experience. Sound varies between the health of your ears and product combinations.The sound here was edgy somewhat harsh at times no warmth. Made sure connections were well made and compared product with Amazon and found amazons link to work better for me. More expensive does not mean better in this hobby it’s all personnel taste.
