We purchased these pants as a uniform for our son. He was in a private school for preschool and although he didn't need to wear a uniform, he wanted to wear one to be like the older children. Our son is very into gross motor activity and is always on the run and these held up well with him. He's always running or doing cart wheels or just rolling in the dirt and mud. They have handled several trips in the washing machine fine and haven't had much wear and tear. I will say, despite the fact that he moves around a lot and is a rough and tumble kid, he takes very good care of his clothes. There were no rips in the knees and the color held up well despite several washes. All in all, these worked great for a four year old boy.

These were super cute on my toddler for a wedding. Came quickly and good quality. But have your lint roller handy.
