I'm a retired general contractor. I did construction for more than 40 years. Everything from building factories and houses, to kitchen and bathroom remodels. I know the value of good tools, and one of the most important tools in anyone's tool belt is a quality tape measure. Without it you can't make accurate measurements, and if you can't measure accurately the quality of your work goes right down the drain. This is a quality tape measure. Durable, easy to read, accurate, and it will last you a very long time. Sure, you can buy a "contractor's tape" at the bargain store for a lot less, and feel like you're saving money... until you drop it off a scaffold and it breaks in a million pieces. This one isn't going to break from a little abuse, and this one will still be retracting perfectly, long after the spring in the cheap ones breaks. You'll also still be able to read this one long after the paint and markings have worn off that cheap one.Quality tools are a must if you want to to quality work. Buy this, you won't regret it.

I lose tape measures like my ex wife loses friends. All the time.And so I end up buying new ones almost every time I start a project.I discovered these Komelons one time, for a little small tapemeasure as a gift for Christmas some years back. They came in excellent, durable, thick plastic and not the brittle kind. It's that thick, almost rubbery kind of plastic that lasts forever. It scuffs instead of breaking. And the tape itself is like, nylon coated? Anyway. I bought these big ones because the little ones were so awesome. And these big ones are also excellent. I've never had a better tape measure and yeah, I've had Fat Max and those type. They're nice. But I can get five of these for the price of a Fat Max. and honestly I think these are just as good if not a skosh better. Enjoy Your Day. Doc

A lot bigger than I expected and a full pound in weight. Tape is 1” wide and will hold itself up out to a little over 7 feet. This is not the cheap flimsy case I was expecting, it is a serious tool. Stores in my area have oodles of tape measures and NOT ONE has a metric scale. That is why I ordered this, and it is a very good buy. If you want a monster tape on your belt.

The only clear problem I have with this is the switch is difficult to turn. (Maybe I have weak fingers and/or this is common amongst measuring tapes, but i've seen better.) Main advantages of this are the good tape length, tape quality and cheapness. I recommend this if you don't know what you want in a tape measure, or you just want something cheap and reliable.

With a European heritage and having been over there many times, I really miss the ease of metric measuring; 10ths is sooo much easier than 64ths...! I wanted a measuring tape that would both help me visualize and learn equivalent measurements as well as enable me to measure either way with one tool. I really like how the designer was considerate to put the markings in a different place for the 1st and 2nd centimeters so that the tab at the end didn't cover them up! It's a nice weight and easy to carry, with a clip that allows it to attach to my tool bag. I love it and highly recommend it!

Premises for my review:Domestic use1- metric and imperial2- good length3- sturdy enoughBased on that it is absolutely a 5 star product!It is made out of plastic, so I assume it can only take so many falls before it brakes, but since I am the only one using it is ok, specially for the price.My husband did point out that the tip has an eight of an inch slack from the tip. The point is, for the price you can deal with burning that first inch or just living with it. Btw, that is why I wanted a metric/imperial and it is actually right. I have purchased tapes in the past that weren't accurate.It is 30ft, making it perfect for domestic use since there is no room, no hallway I can't measure.Now, this packaging is something else! I immediately remembered the other reviews about the packaging! At first I read them and thought to myself "oh please, stop whining..." I got to tell you, that part that grips on your belt just doesn't want to come off!

It's a good, functioning tape measure with imperial and metric measurements. Exactly what I was looking for, works great, no issues with quality that I've seen yet. I mean, it doesn't have the feel of a job site tape measure, but for the piddly stuff around the house I have zero complaints.
