Spill your guts!
Ok... I'm willing to do the work! This 4K steelbook is very nice. That said I'm not big on the cover art of just Beetlejuice when there are tons of great characters in the film. I like the art with the house that is a take on the 1988 film art. Also the glow in the dark feature is kind of lacking. I watch several of the special features and it was nice to see some new stuff that I hadn't already seen on social media or YouTube. An example was the feature about the stop motion effects. The 4K transfer is crisp and sounds fantastic! Absolutely no complaints there. And Lydia on the back of the steelbook is a nice touch. There's my product review.Movie review:I had a really good time with this sequel. I went in not expecting the original 1988 film because I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment. It's such a great film that I've watched many times over the years and I knew the nostalgia that I have for the original film just wasn't going to allow me to appreciate this sequel as much as some might. That being said I really had a good time watching it. I thought Michael Keaton fell right back into the character and did a fantastic job. I can't believe he is in his 70s and had that much energy! Winona Ryder returns as Lydia and I feel like she had a very tough job returning to this character. The reason I think this is because she was a child when she originally played the character so stepping back into this role over 30 years later as a woman, had to be a challenge. I feel like she did a very good job and really loved the relationship between her and her daughter Astrid (Jenna Ortega). I never really got the hype for Jenna until I saw her in the show Wednesday and really fell in love with her as an actress. She's great in this and I thought she was hysterical in the Sabrina Carpenter music video for "Taste". I think she has a bright future as an actress and especially among the horror genre. No I can't finish this review without talking about Catherine O'Hara who I've always loved and admired. Stepping back into the role of Delia Deetz, one of everyone's favorite character from the original. I thought she was really good, I thought maybe she would be a little more unhinged and still be somewhat mean. But it was fun that her character developed as an older lady into a kinder gentler soul. You probably heard that there's a lot going on within the film. I think there's like four mini plots that all come together for a climax that might seem a little unsatisfying considering everything that's going on. But I thought it was good, when you've got so much going on I think we just expect something insane to happen in the end. And we got a musical number that some people loved and some people were lukewarm on. I thought it was a lot of fun and I had that song MacArthur Park stuck in my head for weeks along with Tragedy from the Bee Gees. Speaking of music I really enjoy Danny Elfman's score once again. I've always enjoyed his music and in fact I have several of his soundtracks on vinyl and CD still. So the last thing I'll say is go into this film not expecting the original movie. The original is frankly a classic and I've seen it in the top 100 best comedies of all time on many websites. The original is simple, beautiful and something that many of us have cherished for many years. Thinking that you are going to get the same greatness is a sure way to end with disappointment. When I saw the film the first time I didn't really know how to feel about it. A few days later I saw it a second time and I definitely liked it more on second viewing. I've seen the movie four times now since it came out on physical media. I am a big fan of the movie now and I will say that I wouldn't mind one final Beetlejuice movie in the future.

A perfect script, plot, acting and if you loved the first - The Juice is Loose!
The Juice is loose! (again!)!!! What can I say other than Tim Burton knocked it out of MacArthur's Park!! I did not go to see "The B word" at the theater because I was worried it would be a CGI mess. So I waited. and I bought the Blu Ray(just in case). Only Tim Burton and Michael Keaton could have created this. It is done almost completely like the original with stop motion and a loving tribute to the original. Its as if "Mr. Juice" had been hanging loose until now. I have the original on DVD (I actually had the original on VHS, (but that format is dead now) Dead? get it? Anyway. Delia has lost Charles (due to Mr. Jones passing) Lydia has daughter, and Mr. Juice is now running the under world help desk with his crew of "Bob" and his fellow shrunken head employees. The fact that they all have their mouths sewn shut makes them perfect for the help desk. If you have not seen it, I won't spoil it - You must have this Blu Ray! The extras are great too... Got to run, I have a ticket for the next SOUL train that will be pulling into the station soon! And stay away from Beetlejuice's first wife Delores! She is really (really) angry! So say it one, say it twice, third times the charm.... Beetlj..... (5 stars all the way!)

Very fun
I read a few reviews that indicated that this sequel wasn't as good as the first. I loved the marriage scene near the end. Best rendition of MacArthur park I remember ever seeing. There will be much of the movie that makes no sense if you don't refresh yourself by seeing the first movie. Be sure to catch some of the special features at the end.

Good movie, but the Limited Steelbook case is awful-- it's almost impossible to get the Blu-Ray out!
This was a hard review to write because on one hand, I want to give the movie itself a good score......but on the other hand, I hate the packaging so much, I want to give it a mediocre review. So I guess we'll meet in the middle. As a film, "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" is a bit overstuffed and messy, but is absolutely entertaining and endearing in many of the same ways the original was. As a lifelong fan of the original movie, having grown up watching it on trusty old VHS in the 90s, I was very much satisfied. And in terms of extras, there's some really solid content here to delve into between commentaries, behind-the-scenes featurettes and more. Also, it barely needs to be said... but the 4K and HD presentations are excellent all around, with high quality audio and video. So why isn't this getting a 5?The case sucks, plain and simple. Specifically, it's almost impossible to remove the Blu-Ray disc. It's set so deep you can't get a finger under it. And the steelbook is thin enough that if you try to press the center to pop it out, it warps the case. I'm 90% sure it'll end up getting damaged by the third or fourth time I try to get the Blu-Ray out. So I'm probably going to need to buy a separate case to house the Blu-Ray. Such a shame, too, because the case is gorgeous otherwise, with the nifty glow-in-the-dark cover.I'm giving this a 4 out of 5 just because the movie and extras are so good. But be aware... it's an enormous pain to get one of the two discs out!

So Nice, You'll Say it Thrice?
A remarkable transfer. The 4k is so sharp and vivid, it's insane how detailed this presentation of the Beetlejuice sequel is. Regardless of how others took on the movie, I enjoyed it, a nice but very delayed sequel to a cult classic. And this steelbook glow in the dark offering is just perfect for such a movie. Physical Media is the way to go!
