simple to use and it works! oxo brand great.now can hand wash things in sink again and it drains perfectly. old stopper no idea what brand wasn't working. wish had bought this years agoafter wrote the review it did have little trouble draining and the bulb part fell off , i put it back easily ]and so far is still working great

I use this in the kitchen as it has the drain stop with the strainer feature. It does get a good seal on the bottom of the sink and I have not had water leak unless a heavy pot/pan or a very angled dish push right into it to dislodge it and that has happened very rarely as it sits below the bottom of the sink when closed. The rubber food catcher does catch large and small pieces of food products while allowing the water to drain when you are done with the dishes and you can pop it out to tap it out over the trash, but not all small pieces come off, even when it's popped out in reverse and I need to rinse the rest of the pieces off.Sometimes twisting it closed or open can be a little hard and I have been using it in my sink for two months. If you can't fully do the rotation one handed all at once then it twists back to the position it was in. This can be a little annoying if you are trying to drain a sink that still has some dishes in it and you need to run new water.I have also found that just because there is a new lip at the bottom of the sink with this piece in it and the rubber or silicone goes beyond the average hole in the sink . . .some water pools at the bottom of the sink and does not drain. A few millimeters of water at the bottom.Best Pro - It really seals the water in the sink and it does not leak like so many other sink inserts.

Like all OXO products, this one is very well made. The stopper works well and it's all pretty easy to clean.The only drawback to this is that water pressure tends to turn the stopper so you're constantly having to manually turn it back so it will drain. Which can be really gross if you're trying to rinse something and the drain keeps stopping.

Love this product. Upon opening and handling you can tell this isn't some cheap drain stopper. It is quality stainless steel and rubber. Also, it is extremely easy to clean. When I was using it I would see some grime build up on the bottom inside of the stopper. However, the whole stopper can be easily taken apart for cleaning and just as easily reassembled. Maybe clog is a bad word to use, but the amount of food that it can hold before water flow becomes restricted is pretty small from my experience. For me, this is a good thing because it forces me to clean it out regularly and prevents smells and insects from getting to it. One small complaint is that the rotating mechanism that closes and opens the water flow from the stopper is a bit finicky. It works for the most part, however, I have noticed that sometimes it will go down on its own and cut off water flow. It doesn't lock into an open or closed position. If there are some dishes sitting on top of it, those dishes can inadvertently trigger the mechanism to close the water flow. It's not the biggest deal but it is something to note.

I purchased this Jun 27, 2021. Only lasted 2.5 years. The thin flange around the outside of this drainer/stopper has worn down so that it will not stop water from draining anymore.I loved it when I first got it. It worked great and I loved the way it came apart for cleaning. However, after a while it got scuzzier and scuzzier to clean. I can't just throw it in the dishwasher because I don't have a dishwasher.I don't remember, is this supposed to be silicone? The constant use of this item gets the stopper a nasty film/buildup, and mold? After a while of use, I have to take an old toothbrush and baking soda/vinegar combination to scrub it as clean as I possibly can but never deems to get clean enough. Cleaning a sink stopper shouldn't be a "chore".Stainless steel sink stopper/strainers are much easier to clean, and are cheap, but they don't always fit right and let water drain.OXO needs to perfect this item to make it the quality product that I'm used to from them. I love my OXO products; this one just doesn't last long enough for the price.

I have an older house and the stopper broke. This is wonderful! It catches food and it is super easy to clean it after washing dishes. I love it so much I bought one for my RV which doesn't have a disposal. This is really important so pieces of food don't go down the sink.

I understand the need for a one size fits all as it makes production much cheaper, but I'd pay extra for one that actually fits without it sliding around in the hole. It messes with my ocd to look at my double sink with two of these all cockeyed.The only other complaint is that the natural state of the valve is closed. Meaning that just brushing past the handle will close it and the sink will hold water. It wants to be closed by design it seems, which can be annoying at times.All that said, it's quality built like most OXO products and it does its job. Highly recommend for smaller drains so it doesn't slop around.
