Just what I was looking for in a notebook at reasonable price
First, the limitations- ports. It has one each USB2, USB3, USBC, HDMI (full size) and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The USBC is the charging port. No ethernet jack or card reader. You can use a USB card reader for SD cards so I am not concerned about it. Who misses an ethernet port, esp outside of an office environment ? Not me.The notebook has great battery life. Period. Those getting less than 10 hours of "normal", meaning ordinary use need to tweak their settings. Just editing docs and navigating around the system (control panel, file explorer etc), it can get upwards of 15 hours ( I saw as much as 18 hours) ! Here are some tips- click the battery icon in the system tray and select "best battery life". For even better results, control panel->system->power->change plan settings->advanced . There you set the processor maximum to 60% on battery and 80% plugged in. You will rarely hear the fan come on, even when windows is updating. Even at 60%, the processor has plenty of power. You should always install a good ad blocker in browser. Adguard or ublock plus are good. This not only improves browser performance but also battery life. The notebook comes with almost vanilla Windows 10 home. PC manger can be removed as it offers little benefit. Huawei also installs their own drivers. Since I do not trust them, I reinstalled windows from a MS ISO download and in an update, windows installed the necessary drivers. Huawei claims that if you do that, it voids their warranty ! This confirms my reasons for NOT trusting them- they have spyware in their s/w and so strongly "discouraging" us from uninstalling them. To be fair, I reinstall windows for ALL PCs but others like HP or Lenovo don't complain. It is a basic notebook with touch screen. Good performance, fast boot and wake from sleep/hibernate. It does not have fingerprint reader or IR camera (it does have a HD webcam) - one of them is needed for windows hello. You may be able to add an external USB fingerprint reader to get hello working. It is only 12.7" wide and will fit into a bag designed for 13" notebooks. Audio is crisp and clear. The laptop looks great, is compact and great for school or home use. I especially liked this NB because it has a 14" screen in a 13" footprint !

Awesome Powerful-beautiful Notebook at a great price - cannot wrong with this one
I had one of this Matebook D AMD Ryzen processor on my own mid 2018 and I loved it so much I bought 2 more 2018 christmas for my 2 high schoolers kids for $550 each ... Huaweii and AMD came up with an amazing product. Looks like they collaborated together to make a PC look like an Apple laptop. it is a great deal for a fantastic notebook that looks like a MacBook Pro, is as good as a Macbook Pro and 3 to 4 times cheaper. The look is great (I put it side by side with my wife's Mackbook pro and many times I mix them up ... ) the touchscreen is great, the battery life is great, work all day on battery and just charge it at night, like you would do with your cell phone. the touchpad is very very soft and works great. the brightness of the screen is astonishing (very clear, very crisp). it is very portable, the right size and weight you need to go from place to place. The aluminium finish case is very well built and sturdy. My 2 high schoolers have been using it very extensively for almost 1 year and they have not had any single problem. Myself, after 1 and half year using it, I still love it. for $550, I could not make a better choice.

Great performance, great price
This laptop is an amazing value for the price. The Ryzen 5 2500U with Vega 8 graphics perform very well, enough for some gaming on some lower requirement games like Skyrim. Build quality is great, it's very solid with a premium feel that can be hard to find at this price point. The speakers are by Dolby, and they sound great and get much louder than I expected them to. The 14" 1080p screen looks great, with very thin bezels and a sleek design. Typing on the keyboard feels great to me, key spacing is perfect, with a good travel. Overall this is an amazing laptop with a sleek and beautiful design. It's even slim enough to fit into a 13.3" laptop sleeve, despite housing a 14" display. I recommend this laptop to anyone considering it. The performance is very good and the build quality is above average for a laptop at this price. Just a great product.

Fantastic laptop. But where's the touch screen?
Been wanting this laptop for a while and finally bit the bullet. It's great, light, and very smooth. Now I knew there isn'tbtouchid to unlock the laptop on the AMD model but there is suppose to be touch screen. Unless there is a setting I can't find to activate it, my laptop doesn't seem to have it.

Phenomenal laptop for the price
PROS: the speaker quality is amazing, performance is extremely fast (boots up in seconds), looks and feels elegant, great keyboard, touchscreen is crisp, competitive price, can handle some productivity and moderate gaming like a champ. I've loaded League of Legends on Very High settings and it still performs fast. Photoshop and other adobe apps also work smoothly. It's fairly light (not so light that it feels cheap, but not bulky either).CONS: blurry webcam (not a big deal for me), not foldable, nonadjustable storage

It's more worth than what you pay
I now have this laptop for around two months and it's really incredible. It's fast, most of the time quiet (except in the beginning because of the updates), the touchscreen works like a charm and the build quality is excellent (not the extreme premium feeling like a macbook, but that will cost you double). Also the keyboard is feeling great, and it's no big deal for me that the backlight shuts down after a couple of seconds not touching it. For me one of the most important things is the battery life, and even that surprised me. You can do around 8 hours with a full battery, but it depends a lot on the brightness of your screen. I really was in doubt if I should get this one or another laptop around 1000 euro, but I'm glad I bought this one. Even with the import costs it's cheaper than a similar laptop with these specs and the looks (in the Netherlands at least). The only thing that I miss sometimes is the play and pause button as Fn-buttons. But overall: you won't regret it!
