Delicious! Bay leaves add so much flavor and depth to soups and casseroles and these are no exception. Fragrant, earthy smell and taste, nice sage color. This made my veggie stew so palatable, my kids are like half a bowl. That's a huge compliment from them. I love that these are organic and from India. They are quite large, so you may need to use fewer in recipes. The only concern here is that the resealable package is extremely difficult to open at first. But once you get past that obstacle, it's obvious that this packaging will keep the leaves fresh for a long time. This is a really good deal for an organic spice that may last years. As good as any bay leaves I've cooked with before, maybe better!

This is a huge pack of bay leaves. You get a full ounce, which is quite a lot, when you consider how light bay leaves tend to be. They are dried, and placed in a resealable bag. The bag was difficult to open, without ripping it, and I eventually had to resort to using my teeth. I managed to avoid ripping it (it was a near thing). After getting it open, the bag does re-seal easily. The bay leaves are quite fresh and potent, which is great. The price point is actually pretty reasonable, considering how many bay leaves you get, and how few you would typically get when buying bay leaves. The bag of bay leaves is currently priced at $6.99, on Amazon, in March of 2025. The bag is going to last me for at least a year, I would guess.

The leaves are very large

Great value for the money and product seems high quality. It smells and tastes great. It’s a good size bag and the color is great. This seems very fresh as well.

We buy 0.15 oz jars of organic bay leaves at the supermarket for about the same price as this 1.0 oz package. That implies savings of around 80%. Based on that alone, this is a fantastic deal.The bag has a zip lock opening so that it can be resealed. The leaves are huge! There was one in particular that was longer than the bag and it was folded in half so it could fit. I did find some broken pieces but this is inevitable as the leaves are dry and super brittle.We only buy organic so this is a good addition to our spice rack. Knowing that these have been tested for impurities makes us feel that much better about using them.
