Did the trick
I bought this lotion for a trip to Indonesia, as it covers all the basis.. lotion, sunscreen, bug repellent. Not sure of its overall effectiveness against the sun or bugs, but I can say that I did not get bit while laying in the sun. I would purchase it again.

The Ultimate Defense Mechanism Against Mosquitoes
It’s summertime, and you know what that means: attack of the mosquitoes! As someone who enjoys being outside, and spends a significant amount of time outside as a result, I absolutely cannot stand the tiny terrors that we refer to as mosquitoes. I have had clusters of boil-like bumps and bruises (from scratching) all over my arms, legs, and back caused by presumed planned attacks from these fun-sized invaders.I proceeded to conduct some research about why I am such a significant target. Subsequently, I learned that mosquitoes are more attracted to individuals with an O blood type, our metabolic rates, the amount of CO2 our bodies release (so, basically just breathing), and dark clothing. Upon acquiring this new-found knowledge, I decided to spend a day outside in all-white clothing, sitting dead still, and holding my breath —since I can’t change my blood type, I just let my body continue to circulate my tainted blood which serves as a siren song for these suckers— and, to my anti-climactic surprise, it didn’t work. I returned home with the same amount of battle scars and scratched myself to sleep.I decided to air my grievances with some friends and was told to try AVON Skin-So-Soft. Apparently, it acts as a body moisturizer, a sun screen, and a bug guard. Thrilled at the news, I placed an order on Amazon and received my defense mechanism a day later (thanks to Amazon Prime).Today, I applied the lotion and prayed to the bug guard gods to protect me from the minuscule evils that enjoy fulfilling their bloodlust through my skin. I am absolutely overjoyed to announce that I have not been bitten once since using the lotion and will be sacrificing a handful of mosquito carcasses to the bug guard gods in thanks. If you are suffering alongside me, I highly recommend AVON Skin-So-Soft as a defense mechanism against these vampiric pests. The battle may have been won but the war is far from over.

Smells great.... but not to the bugs...
I bought this product on the recommendation of my coworkers. This summer has been ridiculous with the rain and overabundance of mosquitoes. Every time I go outside at work or to exercise I end up getting eaten up. For whatever reason, I just must really smell good to mosquitoes! I got to the point where I was afraid to leave the house because the bites were becoming more numerous and the itching was severe. I initially purchased an "Off" brand product, containing DEET, which works really well- but boy does it stink! I did not like smelling like that all day and was desperate to find something else. I gave the Avon product a try and am very pleased with the results. This smells more like sunscreen and is not strong in the least. As long as I put it on, it has protected me from the mosquitoes and my number of bites has drastically decreased. Since it is a lotion, it is much easier to apply to specific areas such as arms or neck without getting it everywhere- and you are not inhaling half of it like with the spray on products. Really, the only downside is that you seem to have to apply this more frequently than the DEET containing products. About every 4 hours if you are going to be outside in mosquito rich areas. I believe the directions say about every 2 hours, but I found you can go to 4 as long as you are not swimming or getting wet.Highly recommend for anyone that seems to be a delightful dish to a mosquito. The sunscreen is just a bonus. It is easy to use and once it dries you don't feel oily or greasy. Thank you Avon!

Seems to Work Well, wish it had less scent.
We are in the midst of a sunny and hot holiday weekend (4th of July) in hot and VERY BUGGY Minnesota. We participated in numerous outdoor activities with our friends, from kayaking the chain of beautiful lakes inside Minneapolis, to spending a day on a pontoon on a private lake with other groups. We used this lotion at the onset of each day's activities and it seemed to work well for very many hours without a need to re-apply, even though we were playing on or in water all day, every day. I neglected to apply it to my shins for the kayaking event, and I was sunburned below the knees (my bad planning, as I was expecting a different kayak design than we rented and the opening exposed my lower legs to the sun). I did not have sunburn anywhere that I applied the lotion. The next day and night, when playing at a private lake outside the Twin Cities, the bugs were more plentiful than I have (almost) ever seen, probably due to an excessively wet season here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Bug deterrant is a #1 conversation here, where the mosquitoes can strip you of at least 10 pounds of unwanted (along with your essential) flesh per hour if you are not slathered in DEET and gasping for breath and dying along with the bugs you hope to deter. Anyway, after several days and evening in the great outdoors, after using this Avon lotion, I came away with only TWO bug bites, and I think my partner (who also used this Avon lotion), had none. Our friends and companions, who did not use this lotion, were ravaged by bugs early and had to run, screaming and swatting, to the house in retreat as soon as the sun set. The lotion was easy to carry and did not come unopened when tossed about. A smaller 'hole' design in the bottle that could be clipped on with a small caribeaner (spelling??) would have been nice. You have to shake the bottle to mix the ingredients before applying. It rubs on smoothly and seems to absorb and stay on without a mess, although you will be able to feel it on your skin until you shower it off. We were not aware of any side effects of using it, although we are both somewhat have a sensitivity to strong odors or scents, and we would give this a 5 if it had much less odor. That said, the smell of this lotion is much less offensive than other bug sprays that have made me sick in my lifetime. Another advantage is being able to carry just one bottle instead of two or three on your outdoor excursions. THAT is probably why we made it through the weekend with less sunburn and bug bites than our friends. They were applying lotions, one or the other, throughout the day. I am thinking that this might be a good gift to buy for our friends. Most importantly, combining lotion functions into fewer lotions uses less planetary resources and creates less pollution than producing only one-function lotions. If the packaging was made from renewable resources and used renewable energy for manufacturing, plus if the bottle was 100% bio-degradable, I would rate the product a 10 and would buy stock in the company. Is anybody listening?
