Tombow 2558-B Pencil with Rubber 2558 B, 1 Dozen

Bang for the buck, this is the best pencil I've used. It's got the smoothness of a Blackwing, but it's got erasers unlike drawing pencils. The looks are understated but classic. Overall, it's the best pencil for the money.

Any pencil by Tombow is an excellent pencil. The Tombo Mono R / HB is about my favorite pencil (along with the Mitsubishi Hi-Uni), but these are the most bang for the buck of any pencil I've ever bought. They write effortlessly with a dark line and erase really well. The Mitsubishi 9850 is keen competition: It, too, comes with an eraser and is a beautiful thing for a similar price. I highly recommend these Tombow pencils. Few others compare at this price and you have to spend double to get anything comparable.

The marking is dark and very readable. The hand feel is just right. The eraser works fine. I think this is a better pencil than Tombow Mono 100 HP I have.

There are lots of yellow pencils in the world and this one might look like the rest but looks can be deceiving. Unlike the myriad of yellow clones, this yellow pencil is very very nice. The core is smooth and dark and the eraser works like it's supposed to. Rather than scratching your paper with the other yellow guys to get a gray line, glide across it with one of these beauties and get the deep dark black that you really want.These cost more than a Ticonderoga but they are worth every penny.

I've only begun to use these, but first impressions are very good. Never bought Tombow pencils before. Quality looks above average. After recently being sorely disappointed with some Papermate American Classics, these are head and shoulders above those. B softness is exactly what I wanted - just a bit darker and softer than HB, but they seem strong so far. Eraser is good. Would buy again.Recommended! Made in Vietnam. Model 2558

I've been really frustrated with pencils on the market, even the almighty "T" brand. I was hoping these pencils would be closer to what I remember from when I was a kid. Wrong! These pencils are awful. They broke immediately after being sharpened. What a waste!

I like the way they write. They are darker than a #2 but need sharpening more often. Not a problem, buy more and keep a sharpener handy. The erasure is excellent and the quality is all I could ask for. My wife likes a #4 soft, but she wants a very dark line. I'm happy with these, even though I bought them for her. I gave the #2 Ticonderoga pencils to the boys for school., my wife likes General's semi hex 4b even though they come w/o an erasure, and I'll stock up on these Tombow B's. Might look for a comparable 4b in Tombow for her next. They have erasures.

Excellent product. I needed 36 hours earlier. Can’t use now. A shame.
