Petlinks Scratch & Play Carpet & Burlap Cat Scratch Mat - Brown, One Size

My kitties absolutely love these. They use it so much, it tears up and I buy new ones. But they do last about a year a so. So, I am willing to buy new ones every year or so.

I like that it actually looks nice sitting in the living room. More like a piece of furniture than just a scratching toy. 👍

I like this scratching mat because it makes it easier to discourage my cats from scratching the couch. It came with a toy, but after a few months, it fell off, probably because my cats play with is so aggressively that they ripped it off. I also like how it collects any tiny furballs that may come off when they play too roughly (even though I do brush them), which makes it convenient to simply pluck them off instead of having to sweep the entire area. The only complaint I have is the color, and yes, I’m being pedantic. I dislike how the mat is divided into three sections with only the middle one made of a thicker material. The sides seem to be made of a coarse fabric, which I can’t imagine would be satisfying to scratch. The colors of the three sections don’t match, which makes it a little offputting to me. Otherwise, it’s a great mat, which I would buy again, though I wish the toy were attached a bit more securely.

I had a similar designed one that my cat loved & it was getting about time to replace. This seemed to be the closest design available on amazon, unfortunately it’s just….off point. Though i do like the colors better. I had sent my mom a screenshot as an idea what I was looking for & she promptly ordered this as a kind gesture. Looking at previous reviews I was nervous but it’d already been ordered. Upon opening I see all the same things noted in the other reviews RE staples that could catch nails (my previous one had staples too but they were set much deeper or underneath fabric layers ) & off placement of the sisal scratch pad …which will make the carpet part fray & be destroyed very quickly . If you look at my previous 5yr old scratcher next to the new one (as well as other reviews re how a cat sits on this and where the paws are placed ) the sisal should be placed more on the top curve part not in the front area. Otherwise, in this case , the carpet part gets destroyed & the whole thing is looking shabby very quickly. My cat loves her old one& uses it numerous times a day , but sniffed the toy on the new one & hasn’t touched it (it’s been hours ) so I’m assuming it needs to off gas. Not sure if I’ll end up keeping

This is the third time we have purchased this item. This is the only cat scratcher our cat will use. We have ordered several others = she won't have anything to do with them. Perfect for our cat and has lasted a year.
