It is pricey, yes. But for the serious (really serious) Potter fan give this a serious consideration. I bought it to see what it would be like and I was very impressed with it. Top quality throughout, front to back. The illustrations are great and are a closer interpretation of the book descriptions as compared to the movies.There is a separate fold out piece of the North side of Diagon Alley that is a bit over 12 inches(30cm) by 60 inches(152cm) and very detailed. The book is large and very heavy. Overall, a beautiful book. Now to save up for The Chamber of Secrets.

In short I was very hesitant to buy this book. I absolutely love the Harry Potter series and find J.K. Rowling's story sheer brilliance. I am some what of a collector of slipcases and well made editions of books I love/ grew up with.I wasn't sure if it was wise to spend this kind of money on a book but after receiving it today all of my doubts were cast aside. This is an absolute masterpiece, I don't know even where to begin. The illustrations truly bring to the story to life and Jim Kay's (illustrator) vision of the Harry Potter world is refreshing and beyond magical. The book itself is extremely high quality from binding to cover. I will write more and post pictures when I get a chance but after opening it and reading the first few pages I felt compelled to share my elation.If you are considering purchasing this book do yourself a favor and buy it now. Honestly after receiving it today, it's undoubtedly worth every penny.

Boy am I glad Amazon exists in these days!I bought the limited editions that were only available in the UK/Ireland.I have always wanted a luxury Harry Potter item, and this just screamed out to me!If you don't want the hassle, or to spend easy 4-8 times the amount though, you can get the US/other languages of this book for roughly $30-$40.It is totally worth the price as I love the artwork associated with the Harry Potter novels. As good as the movies are, the art isn't the same as the illustrations that demand to be seen in these books!5 out of 5 stars FOR SURE!
