First, objections: some report that these are not "Giant". Well in fact, that may be an overstatement but these are actually rather fat and with an extra-wide color core, so they are actually quite large compared to regular colored pencils, they're just not as long (which is clearly stated, no deception).The only negative is that they are difficult to sharpen, something which is a nuisance, but not difficult to overcome with a good sharpener.Now, the "Pro's"-the reason I give these a 5-star rating: The colors are vivid, bold, and consistent. The pigments are intense, hence whatever artwork is created with these will be beautifully bright. Regular colored pencils have a much less defined pigmentation, requiring much more effort to produce the same effect, if that's even possible.And these are easy on the hands, whether big or small. They are comfortable to hold, easy to grip.Yes, these are pricey; they're not your average run-of-the-mill product. They are worth every single penny, and I've used only these for many years now in my own home, and have given them as gifts over and over again-I don't even both with cheaper products because these are just that good!So if you just want a cheap set of colored pencils to play with or give as gifts, these aren't it. But if you want quality and care about spurring young artists into creativity, these are just the ticket!

These colored pencils are wonderful. The shape is perfect for assisting the development of the proper writing grip for the young child. If these pencils are treated well then they will not require a lot of sharpening. A beautiful product. Great color range and fantastic size for traveling. I love having these in my classroom. These pencils were also used in a Montessori training center.

These are great quality pencils. I love the comfortable grip for my toddler to use abs Ku older child also loves them. The colors are bright and beautiful. I love anything this brand makes.

We LOVE Lyra Ferby colored pencils! I purchased these as a gift for a friend's child. The only complaint I have with this particular set is that I didn't notice that they were the "short" version of the pencils. The pigment in Lyra colored pencils, especially the Ferby/Super Ferby pencils is SO vibrant, SO saturated with color, that once you pick it up to use it, you can't put it down. My kids would go through the short pencils in a matter of weeks, for this reason. ;) But it's a good problem to have! We keep a steady supply of Lyra pencils in our house. We don't really consider them "gifts" in our house. We consider them a necessity. You will NOT be disappointed in the quality of these pencils, in the density of pigment in the colors. These are seriously the best pencils on the market and once your family tries them, you will not want to use anything else. I actually rate them above Prismacolor for density of pigment, and as the daughter of an artist, that is saying a lot.

Amazing colors and the triangle grip helps my grandkids develop a more comfortable pencil holding posture. Very long lasting, too! And they don't roll off the table.

The design is classy and elevated. The triangular shape helps with control, especially for young children. The color they produce is workable with how much pressure you use. Making these a wonderful swap for any other brand.

We love these pencils, and purchasing them through this seller was to replace an existing set we had and used up. The new set we received was good quality, but we didn’t have all the colors. We had two of each: dark purple, green, light blue, dark blue, brown and black, rather than having one of each color (our original set came other colors like pink, yellow, white, tan, red) so that is what we were expecting here. Again, quality is good, but not having a full array of colors was disappointing.

My 4 year old loves these colored pencils! They’re short and thick, perfect for her developing hands to hold. The triangular shape makes it so these don’t roll off the table when she’s using them. The pencils color smoothly and don’t require a ton of pressure to get the color on the page.
