This filter shipped to me with a rattle, so I cut it open and discovered the bypass valve wedged wide open which means zero filtering. Also, this is NOT the correct filter for GC1700. It will screw on really loose but only because it has M20x1.5 threads that are just a little bigger than the 3/4-16 stud that is on the GC1700 series tractor. You'll either end up leaking fluid, stripping threads on the transmission, or losing the entire filter and all of your fluid in the middle of a job. The product description says 6258877M91, but again that's totally wrong. Aside from the fatal flaw of bypass valve stuck open, this filter is actually the intended equivalent of 4265229M92 (GC2000 series tractors).

Do Not buy
Does not fit 1723e and probably all other Massey tractors. Wasted a few gallons of hydraulic oil. Please do not buy. Very annoyed. Total waste of money.
