Superb welding helmet
I bought this to replace a 10+ year old Sperian Optrel e650. The Speedglas is much better, which really surpised me as the Optrel was twice the price! I know things have moved on but the Speedglas is far, far better than I expected for this money. I'm refering to the optics, reaction speed, comfort, etc, etc. Also, I think having the controls inside the helmet is an advantage as the Optrel failed due to the circuit ribbon breaking to the outside controls. Very pleased with purchase and glad I didn't buy the Amazon recommended cheapy which I was considering... I think it would have been a false economy as I weld for a living.

Superb optical clarity
The clarity of the optic is outstanding. My previous masks have been middling budget, this helmet is twice the cost but what price do you put on being able to see? I can observe the arc as it happens, for the first time I can see the filler rod, arc and material during the welding process. The filter switching speed is also noticeably superior, in both directions. I notice there are other helmets with a larger field of view but I don't understand what advantage that provides. Given a fixed price, it seems that trading optical clarity for field of view would improve convenience at the cost of weld quality. Perhaps I will come back to this when I've used the mask a little more. So far, so good.

Works very well
Brought to replace a more expensive 4 sensor helmet that wouldn't properly reset in dark ambient conditions, and works very well. Comfortable and reliable. Good helmet. Recommended.

Perfect bit of kit...
Adjustable straps, adjustable speed of darkness shutter, adjustable strength of opaqueness. Just what i needed for my mig welding course, has a padded forehead strap to soak up the sweat, it gets hot !!
