I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she was over the moon excited about it .

This pendulum clock was very challenging to put together. The instructions are clear, but it is easy to miss a little, seemingly unimportant thing. I had to take the pieces apart multiple times to build it. That is not a big deal as the pieces are very sturdy and the project is quite durable so nothing broke. It may be frustrating for younger builders or for those expecting a quick, easy project, however. This is a challenging model that is going to take some time to put together. Take your time, have some extra tools, wax, glue, whatever you want to make the project a little easier for you.The pendulum clock looks amazing on the wall after it is assembled and is a real conversation piece! It looks more like wall art than a functional clock and you can easily paint it to match your decor and make it even more striking. This model set is best for advanced model builders (I am more of a beginner/moderate and I found it very difficult to finish) or for team builders who can help each other.

It took me much longer then the 5 hrs to assemble. The instructions could have been better. I love the finished product, very pretty and runs for about 2 hrs before it needs to be rewound

attention to detail is necessary. This is a very interesting project. The instructions are pretty well done, although the assembly of the cords and subesequent adjustements leave alot to be desired. Specifically the mechanism which controls the ratchet part. It is very difficult to wind and adjust the cords. Then, insure that the mechanism acutually works. It takes ALOT of patience, and some understanding of how this is supposed work.

My husband absolutely loves wooden 3D puzzles and he can usually build them relatively quickly with patience and going slowly over and over the directions before adding a new piece. He did the same with this puzzle but at the end had some issues but after going back a few steps taking apart and rebuilding and he got it all together! It’s really beautiful and would make a great gift before or after building! TIP: Patience & slow building is KEY with these wooded puzzles. Re read over and over the instructions (or look at the pictures in some cases) before building. This is probably one of my top favorites in terms of 3D wooded puzzles! I got the pendulum clock

The wooden pieces fit well, and everything is precision cut with a laser. I may try to give it a light coat of paint, and see how it turns out. The box it comes in is nice, and would make it a nice gift for someone.

An object in motion tends to stay in motion. This wooden model uses a system similar to a grandfather clock to capture, store and direct gravitational energy. It's a weighted pendulum. Learn some physics while building. A+

Some parts were flimsy and easily broke off or splintered while putting it together. I had 3/4th of it done when I gave up due to my of the piece needing to be glued back together from braking on me.
