Instructions say 8 -10 strokes - is that to each nail. How frequently can you apply? Can you touch up on a daily basis? I find the instructions too vague.

I apply approx 3 strokes to each nail. I only have small nail beds tho. I touch up every 3 days, I remove all the product after 10 days. I then start again. I know it seems time consuming, but it has done amazing things for my nails. My mum follows this regime too. She loves it!

I apply 2 coats initially and then take it off and reapply once a week. My nails are really strong and growing well.

It will protect to a certain extent, as it's only on the outer side. Two coats should help, especially as water will soften the nail and this will help keep them strong. I would suggest applying two coats before every swim and not buffing the nails. It's recommended that you apply it twice a week as a treatment. I wear it all week, I've been using it for about 25yrs as my hands were always in wet from being a hairdresser. Def best one out of their brand and best brand I've tried.
