Magic Mixies Potion Game, Place The Magic Ingredients Into The Cauldron and Make The Mixie Pop Up to Win

The media could not be loaded. I got this for my autistic daughter to practice fine motor skills. She loves this series and loves this game. We don’t follow the rules lol but I set it up almost as if we did. The mechanic changes the trigger for the pop up seemingly randomly. It’s a little jarring to push back down. Feels like I’m gonna break something, but it helps when you don’t have all the pieces in place! I could easily see this being used at an OTs office (occupational therapy) or in school.All pieces are hard plastic, no batteries or glitter. Critter cannot be removed, but we like it that way! It’s also a super flexible rules system. Make up your own! It’s always one trigger, never a combo as suggested in ad, but you’d never know just playing it. And thank the good lord that the prices don’t go flying once trigger is activated! Those games are asking for you to lose pieces. You also barely feel the pressure for the trigger, so it’s always a surprise!Lastly, the spinner is the most basic spinner you can imagine. Have to kind of bend it straight again sometimes as it can sag and drag. But when you’ve got the right set up, it spins just fine.

This ended up being more fun than I expected. You’re basically trying to collect sets of 3 and there’s a little bit of strategy about how you move and which items you pull/add to the cauldron. The only real downside is that it’s easy for kids to understand how it’s working. The game pitches it like you’re figuring out a secret combination, but it’s definitely not that complicated. It only took my 5 year old a day to figure out that there is 1 random hole that is “the hole” each game and you just have to be lucky enough to insert something into it to become the winner. That realization took some of the magic out of it, but we’re still playing it and it’s still fun.

Pop Goes the Weasel concept. Scared the crap out of me the first time I played it. But my girls are obsessed and love it! They are 4 and 6 years old and played it for a long time. Cute game!

My youngest wanted a Mixie for Christmas but they were sold out, I thought this would be meeting him half way but I was worried he wouldn’t like it. Boy was I wrong, he was so excited and grateful! It’s a really cute fantasy themed game that kids can play alone or with their siblings, I even enjoy playing it with my kids and I’m a grown adult! Great value for the money, makes for an awesome gift for fantasy lovers. Could be for boys or girls.

This game is easy to assemble and easy to play. My 6yr old granddaughter and I played over and over and she really enjoyed it. When the figure pops up from the center it’s a little startling, but other than that she loved it. Priced well and sturdy construction.

Cute idea, but not worth the money. Played one time and didn’t enjoy at all.
