Poor quality
Being advertised as strong enough to kill rats, I bought these two traps to get rid of nuisance squirrels destroying various items on my property.A chipmunk got caught in one, but spring was not strong enough to make a humanitarian kill.It was able to kill a mouse. When a small squirrel got caught in it, the kill bar bent. The squirrel was partially trapped but not killed. As I reached to release the trap the squirrel became frantic and pulled its head out of the bent trap and left. Not effective!Send me back my money.

Rat killer
It was worth every penny, very effective, after 7 kills you have to retune it a bit as the metal bends a bit but is not a big deal, it literally solved my problem

Weak design
Kill bar bends as spring only on one side or should have used a different alloy.

Great design! Update 6/17
I caught a rat within 24 hours of setting the traps. Due to the innovative jagged teeth on the capture end of the trap, the rat, who might have escaped its doom with the typical wooden style snap trap, could not escape. I don't think most people have any idea how strong a rat can be when it wants to escape something. I loved the fact I could tie my bait ( a whole walnut that I drilled through) to the pedal, this was the cause of my success I think. My local rats are used to scavenging the walnut orchards that surround my home, and normally never have invaded my house. However I made the mistake of leaving a bag of walnuts in the shell sitting out when I went on a two month vacation. Once they got in and feasted , they started looking for other munchies of course. I also liked the screw holes which allowed me to fasten the trap to a piece of 2x6 lumber, which makes it so the rat cant go very far in its trapped condition and makes it so my hands don't have to go near the rat when I emptied the trap. I just hosed the whole thing off and left it in the sun to dry. Great design and made in the USA! The trap is good , although I felt somewhat overpriced. I was disappointed to learn that the seller lowered the price I paid by $4 only a couple of days after I received the traps. Update 6/17/19 . Want to let others know that the seller "Nexxen" refunded me $4. on the price I paid. Great customer service! I wanted to update my seller review too but didn't see a place to edit my original seller review. Thank you Nexxen! The traps are holding up well.

And The Winner Is .......
I own two different Brands of rat traps: the classic Victor wood and metal trap and the Victor plastic power kill trap. My backyard rat defeated both of them. So I bought two more: the popular Tomcat Trap and the made2catch metal trap. The made2catch trap caught my backyard rat on the first night. This is the strongest and most powerful of the traps I bought. Be careful! I had a trace amount of peanut butter on my fingers when I tried to set it. The lever slipped out of my fingers and my index finger was slightly pinched in the jagged jaws. It wasn't too bad, but Ouch! The springs on the other traps are not as quick and strong as this one. The rat was struck directly across the skull. Death must of been quick, if not instant. That's what I want in a trap.So the deserved winner is made2catch metal trap!
