Many reviews say they are brow, not black. Which color are they exactly?

They are black and white, I really like them. They were smaller than I thought but I have found the perfect spot for them. :)

Are the pictures supposed to touch each other?

No, I hung on having space with each other. It's 3 pictures. You can adjust the relative position of them.

Are the prints truly black and white? I see that a few people have complained about a brown tint.

Ours are black and white. If you examine the color "very closely" in broad daylight, you can see that it could be interpreted as a very, very dark brown, but to the casual observer its black and white. I guess there may be different die lots that cause this variation. Ours are in a room with black and white furniture, and they work nicely. No one would see ours as being brown.
