Great wide slot toaster
Best toaster I have seen with 2 wide slots meaning it fits thick and large bread in as well as naans and other flat breads. It toasts just fine, got a lift feature and looks good too - thought I would add a review as I am waiting for my toast š I should add I paid Ā£59.99

A large Maillard Reaction Chamber that works quite well.
We have been using this device for a week or so now now after our previous Maillard Reaction Chamber failed at lifting its carbonised contents one morning. Leaving us just boiled water and diffused tea root before we set off to the office - isn't that just always the truth just when you really need something it fails!Upon de-boxing the Chamber (simple enough to do) we placed it in the food creation laboratory next to the ebullition and vaporization unit. As they are of the same manufacture 'Breville' they match quite well in terms of style and aesthetics. It's fair to say that its handsome, yet workmanlike, exterior is very pleasing on the eye. Reminding me very much of the bright and shiny stainless steel Draftsman's tools that my father used to have laid across his office desks. The unit itself is quite large - and as promised it accommodates large slices of pre-backed bread. Now here's an interesting feature not mentioned in the sales pitch. Not only does 'Tall Bread' fit in the Vertical it also fits perfectly in the Horizontal - Now as every backroom Boffin will know, Maillard Reaction Chambers are set to pop their contents at a precise timing by way of the Browning Dial. It seems to me that if the Bread slices are laid Horizontal, one can turn the Browning dial down a smidge and save valuable energy as the Bread slices are wholly in front of the radiant wires, resulting in a quicker Maillard Reaction while retaining the same level of caramelizing. Maillard Reaction Chambers work more efficiently when water vapour is kept to its absolute minimum. So we are pleased to see that there is no access point to fill it with H20. All very reassuring indeed. As this unit is sold to caramelize tall slices of pre-baked bread, and it works perfectly in this regard. Producing very satisfying and very tasty produce that you and I call Morning Toast.

Finally A Toaster that can Toast bread properly
If, like me, you have been struggling to find a toaster that actually toasts 100% of a slice of bread, then look no further. I must say that is frustrating that in the 21st century is so difficult to find a toaster that toasts sliced bread properly. The last toaster I bought was much higher priced than this one but like most toasters out there today, only toasted 66% of a slice of bread. Not only is this Breville toaster more competitively priced than less capable toasters but it is also weighs a lot less, which if you store your toaster away in a cupboard after use, may be a consideration. The toaster is slightly taller than most to enable it to fit a slice of bread vertically and still toast it all the way to the top and not just two thirds of the way up. The toasting slots on this 2 slice model are also wide enough to allow you to toast your bread in the horizontal position. Handy. It is not the fastest toaster on the market but it is no slouch either. There is a button on the toaster to press if you are toasting frozen Bread, as well as the standard cancel and reheat buttons. On the down side there is no warming rack and the cord storage on the bottom of the toaster is next to useless. The sides of the toaster stay cool apart from the top 3rd which is vented with holes to allow the heat out, so be careful if you move it once you have used it. Overall it looks quite nice, finished in a shiny chrome finish, however this does scratch easily, especially if you are constantly moving the toaster to put it aŵay again when you have finished using it. Again, a decent cord storage would help prevent this.Overall Iām very happy with the way this toaster performs. A decent cord storage would be nice to have but not essential, after all itās main function is to toast bread and it does this superbly.

Great so far
Iāve never had much luck with toastersāeither they break down, trip the electricity, or give me toast thatās burnt on one side and undercooked on the other. But after using this toaster for a couple of months, Iām pleasantly surprised! Itās been performing reliably, and Iām finally getting evenly toasted bread every time.During the first few uses, I did have to adjust the browning function quite a bit, as it seemed too high. However, after a couple of weeks, it settled down, and I now keep it at around 1/3 of the way up the scale for perfect toast. The touch button icons are intuitive and easy to use, and Iāve made good use of both the crumpet and frozen bread settings. They work exactly as youād expect, producing great results.Like many toasters, UK bread loaves can be tricky to fit, but this modelās long slots make a huge difference. It easily accommodates a full slice, and Iāve even managed to fit 1 and 1/2 slices in each slotāperfect for those who enjoy a heartier toasty loaf.So far, itās been running like a charm, and Iām hopeful it will continue to do so. Iād definitely recommend this toaster, if only for the fact that it can handle proper slices of bread without the usual hassle!
