Best knives we have ever had, worth the extra money.

The knives had penetrated the manufacturers packaging, and the cardboard box that it was shipped from Amazon in, since it was just a flimsy plastic sheeting over the knife box. I would think that if a knife set is being shipped, that the packaging would be such that the knives would not cut through the manufacturers packaging, especially when the knives are fairly expesnive knives.

I have a set of Henckels Professional S knives. I wanted a shorter chef's knife and this was perfect. I would have preferred a 3 inch paring knife but apparently they do not make that any more. The 4 inch is OK but not that easy to use for some things. Wish they had discontinued the 4 inch and kept the 3 inch.

Not as much of a heavy duty feel as I expected

Superb product for the price. Nearly 35 years ago, while in Germany on business, I purchased a chef's knife from Henkels. We STILL have the knife, use it daily and treasure the old world attention to quality and detail. I hope the new ones lives up to that tradition and that my Grand kids will use them for the next 35 years!
