Excellent Beginner Boom
This is a thin, quick read that’s chock full of info for those new to owning Nigerian Dwarf goats. I’m adding this to our homeschool science curricula.

Feed for goats
It helped a lot. The questions I had the book had the answers. I manly was interested about their food and I found out they can eat the hay that I give my horses. Since they are together in the stall I didn’t want to make two different feeds. I buy it again if I lost this one!

Excellent book for any beginner
The was a warehouse of knowledge for me. I highly recommend it! In depth examples of the do and don't things for starting your own herd. With a ton of reference material at the end.

Needs a rewrite! Scattered, spotty information
This book is in dire need of an editor. There are numerous bits of good information in it, and if it was condensed and organized better, it would be a very good resource. Instead, the book reads like a series of Facebook posts, and the foundational information is lost among personal stories, anecdotal experiences, and hearsay.Much of the book's information is repeated throughout different sections. Worse, the information that should belong in one section (e.g.: What should I feed my goats?) is scattered throughout the book, and appears in different formats. Sometimes diet appears as hay and pellets, sometimes as something nebulous like a high-protein diet, and sometimes vague advice such as "avoid giving too many extras." Elsewhere, we are advised to supplement the goats' diet with this and that, which seem like extras to me.There is definitely a book's worth of information here, but it needs straightening out. A table for what to feed male and female goats of what age, and how much of each thing to feed them, would be a good start. Winnowing the concrete information (what, where, when, and how) from the stories and anecdotal advice would also be helpful. Lastly, the book is full of spelling and grammatical errors, which should be simple to correct. These issues are a shame, because the author is genuinely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. With the right tweaks, this book could be "the" authority on Nigerian dwarf goats, and could easily be expanded to cover all goats. As it is, I know much more now than I did before reading the book. Unfortunately, the information was so scattered that I'm still not knowledgeable enough to begin raising goats of my own.

Thank you so much!!
I am new to goats. But after narrowing down the breed that I wanted, I have to say that this book was very informative, covered every aspect of having a Nigerian dwarf, and provided excellent references. This is definitely a book that I can earmark and keep handy as I start my new adventure. I'm very confident and excited to get my goats now!
