For Dummies Making YouTube Videos: Star in Your Own Video!

I bought this book for my 9 y/o son thought it would be good to get him to review it:This book is called making YouTube videos and it is a good book for whoever reads it. There are loads of details and whoever reads it will be able to understand the book and make YouTube videos.The things I liked about the book were that it tells you how the shooting works(on the camera) and how to get started.what I didn't like was that all the editing was for imovie and people that don't have it, can't get it or are not allowed to get it are out of luck.I think because of all the things like the shooting and the getting started I'd say it's a good book for people of any age. This book is really good and I bet that if anyone was to read it they would give it a 3 or 4 star rating and a thumbs up.

For what it is it's fine: a handy ready reckoner for the younger reader; or old dogs wanting to learn new tricks.One fundamental problem with this edition though: of the two editing suites it discusses, one is only for Macs/ IOS devices (iMovie) and the other, Movie Maker, has been discontinued by Microsoft and is no longer available to new users.

I ordered this book on Thursday and it arrived on Friday so really pleased with the swift service. I have only read a bit of it and flicked through the rest so far but it is a good book. My kids are really into YouTube and want to create channels and I have been hesitant because, well, it is the internet and we all know the dangers etc. So I decided if they were going to do it then we'd do it properly, from scratch. This book takes you through the entire process from choosing a video format, to filming, to uploading and managing your YouTube site. It's also very responsible, giving clear warnings when "you need to ask an adult" etc. Perfect.

Was hopeful with this book because of the brand behind it (alternatives seem to be independently published and do not preview content pages) disappointed thought. It feels very dated. Photos of kids using huge cameras ... What kids want is to use their mobile phones and create nice videos. I don't think my daughter will relate to it. I'm in two minds about returning it. Looking for a better alternative.

Upon quick glance this looks great.I’m very knowledgeable in this field but this is for my son. I can tell it has all the info you need to plan, prepare, present and publish your own show. Well thought out and arranged
