It helped my daughter feel safe in the water.
I really like this life jacket, the clips work well, the straps are easy to adjust and don’t slip. My daughter is 4 years old, she is tall and weighs about 45 lb. The life jacket was a little big but was easily adjusted to fit her snug and perfect, she will probably get a year or two out of it which I love. The only problem we came across was sand, after swimming in the lake she played in the sand on the shore. The sand got in the clips and the zipper and made it difficult to get off of her. So be aware of the sand, other wise we really like it and she loves how safe it makes her feel. She was jumping in and swimming all around the lake with no problems. The color and print was a plus because her favorite color is pink.
