Aqua Ez Solar Cover Reel for in Ground Pools up to 18 ft - Factory Refurbished

Absolutely great for my 10X30 kidney shaped pool. Kind of a pain to put together and hook up but works well. Cannot attest to sturdyness or longevity but very pleased so far for the price.Addendum Jun 1 2018....I still like this reel. I added lashing straps around the bottom from 1 side to the other to strengthen when cover is on (cost 8 bucks. Only complaint is that some of the rollup straps are deteriorated. Still great bang for the buck.Addendum Aug 9, 2021Still holding up. One of the plastic wheels has cracked and falls off when I lift it up but it still works well for me. Probably best for smaller inground pools using a light or medium mil solar cover. If you overload it it will sag. I still think its a great bang for the buck!!!!!

It took us 2 hours to put it together only to find that it needs to be returned. Directions are hard to figure out and the rod is way to flimsy to hold our cover. I bought this reel to replace one that we've had for 10 years that the handle broke, and the solar cover was falling apart. We ordered the 8 mil cover first, and the ordered this reel because it looks a lot like the old one we have been happy with. It says it will hold 8 mil 16 x 32 cover, but it will NOT. Check out my pictures and videos. It sags clear to the concrete even when the cover is dry. It tips over when we are trying to reel the cover out or in. The sagging causes the ends to push out, which will end up breaking. It also had a crack in the handle right out of the box. The first picture shows our old cover and reel behind the new one (with the white sun plastic over it). It's literally on the concrete. The second pictures shows more sagging before we took it out of the garage. I should have recorded the effort we had to try to cover and uncover the pool with it. So, after all the work, we have to disassemble it and return. Save yourself the trouble and don't buy it. Very disappointed in this being marketed as a good product. Maybe it will work for smaller pools/covers. Do not buy for 16x32

Works as described. Not quite as durable as I had hoped. A little difficult to assemble with the instructions provided. We'll see how well it holds up.

Tube is too small and too many sections. Only use with the thinnest of solar blankets. Would not buy again.

Installed very easily on a 11 foot wide inground pool. No sag in the pole, even when loaded with a 12 mil blanket. I put it together in 1/2 hour with just a screwdriver, and another hour to attach the solar blanket. I didn't have a drill available, but didn't need it. The self tapping screws worked fine. Motion is smooth and reel stays put when I lock the wheels. When I am pulling the blanket off the reel and down the pool, I just have to watch how hard I pull. Too hard and the reel topples over. I may weight the bottom down for more stability but it isn't necessary.

I have a smaller in-ground pool (10' w X 7' l), so didn't want to spend a ton of money on a solar cover reel. This was the perfect solution. It went together pretty easily (I'm pretty handy) and it worked great.....for about 6 months. As I rolled the solar cover up for the end of the season, the straps started to break. They had degraded. I'm very disappointed :(

The directions were lousy. None of the holes lined up for the screws. We had to just use other screws and assemble ourselves. Very lightweight. Our pool is only 12 ft wide and the weight of the cover makes the rod sag.

This is a cheap product that is a waste of money. This was awful from the get-go. Metal bar doesn’t support the weight of the pool cover. We had to reinforce it with an additional metal bar. The wheel just broke off of one of the sides. So cheap. Super disappointed in this purchase.
