I was really impressed
This product impressed me a lot. It was simple to make. No boiling milk and making custard. Easy, simple, quick recipe that Actually tastes Great. There is an ongoing concern in the reviews about the instructions and before I made a batch, I emailed the company and they quickly responded to me and provided me with the correct information. They mentioned there was a printing error made in the instruction section. You will only need a pack of the Triple Scoop Ice Cream Mix - Starter, 1 1/2 cups of Half and Half and 1 1/2 cups of Heavy Whipping Cream. We stopped by our local store and you can get 16 0z of the Half/Half and the Heavy Whipping Cream for about $5 or $8 for the 32 oz combination. For reference, 16 ounces is 2 liquid cups, so you will have a little extra left over. There are 2 packs of the ice cream starter mix in the box, so you can either buy 2 sets of the 16 ounces containers or a set of the 32 ounce containers. I made one batch and I am freezing the remaining milk products for later use on the last starter mix packet. We recently got the Cuisinart ICE-100 ice cream machine (the one with the compressor) and the mix worked great in it. I followed the time of the Cuisinart instructions for their recipes and letting it run a little longer made it fluffier and helped to firm up the ice cream. Make sure you have plenty of silicone spatulas and scrappers. With the Cuisinart 100 this spatula was great to get into the mixing blade and allow for you to get into the nicks and crannies quickly: ASIN B0BRB1S3K8.Make sure you have your tub or ice cream containers to transfer into as it will start melting on you. We used some old Pint Gelato containers and they worked out great. Each pack will make two Pints of Ice Cream. I transferred to the old gelato containers and turned my fridge/freezer up to max cooling and let them set before we got any and to me it is like a chef wanting beef or chicken to rest before they are cut. By waiting you got a better product and it reminded of the Homemade Bl&eBeL# ice cream.

Very yummy!
This is a very good ice cream starter. It has a rich vanilla flavor. I make candy cane ice cream by adding crushed candy canes and peppermint extract. Had to use an additional teaspoon to get the cool flavoring we like. The ingredients list says starter, heavy cream and half n half. In the directions it mentions milk but no amount in the ingredients list? I didn’t add milk. After 35 mins in my electric ice cream maker the ice cream was still a bit under firm. I put it in my special ice cream freezer tub, at 24 hrs in the freezer it was still the consistency of soft serve. My family enjoyed the texture, creaminess and the soft serve consistency. I bought this brand again to have on hand for a future tub of peppermint candy cane ice cream.

Ice Cream
This is a notably exceptional ice cream starter. It possesses a rich vanilla flavor. The ingredients list specifies starter, heavy cream, and half and half. In the directions, milk is mentioned, yet no quantity is indicated in the ingredients list. Milk was not added. After a period of 35 minutes within my electric ice cream maker, the ice cream remained somewhat insufficiently firm. It was then placed within my specialized ice cream freezer tub. Even after 24 hours within the freezer, it maintained the consistency of soft serve. Notwithstanding, my family relished the texture, creaminess, and the soft serve consistency.

Expensive for Convienence
I bought this because "it popped up on my Amazon..." as suggested when I purchased an ice cream maker..........thought 'why not?' and agreed - easy - just pour in the pouch of "ice cream" stuff and stir with lots of milk and cream - no adding anything; no cooking milk and sugar and vanilla - just boop...mix in and cool for about 30 minutes before you put in ice cream maker. Warning: the box label states "ready to eat..." like after about 40 minutes of processing in ice cream maker - but this is not totally correct...."for best results" you have to place the processed ice cream for another 24 hours in order to get real scoopable ice cream! that 24 hours can feel like FOREVER....hahahaha....any way....the bottom line for me is I was wanting home-made ice cream that was more economical than the brand we like to buy - but honestly the price on this product makes buying it to "save" laughable....it did taste delicious - the consistency on the first night was very good - but after another night in the freezer it turned crystalized and that was disappointing. I'd say don't spend the money - unless you don't know how to add sugar to milk and cook it for a bit. This or just actually go buy your favorite gourmet vanilla and save yourself the hassle .... just spend a lot and enjoy it RIGHT NOW.

Really impressed
When I couldn't find my usual ice cream mix in the grocery store, I figured I'd try this brand. The box says it makes "the richest, creamiest ice cream you have ever tasted." That's... quite a claim for a boxed mix, but I can say, this is hands-down the absolute best ice cream I've EVER had using a mix. With every other mix I've used over the decades, the ice cream tastes great when it's fresh and more like soft serve, but it doesn't keep well -- put it in the freezer, and the next day it's hard and icy. With this? It's great in that soft serve stage, BUT it's also still good the next day and scoops like... well, real ice cream, without that grainy texture you usually get.I also like that it comes in two 1-quart packets instead of a single bag inside. For my ice cream maker, I used both packets, but if you have a smaller machine, having the flexibility to just do 1 quart and leave the rest sealed up and fresh is a nice touch.Definitely impressed and looking forward to trying more flavors!
