Amazing for the price, seriously
I bought this just as a beater so i don’t have to feel guilty abusing my expensive knives, and wow. I’m more than impressed. Right out of the box you have better action than any benchmade I’ve ever owned (brand new that is), blade is almost sharp enough to cut hair but slices paper clean. Not too heavy but it does have a little weight. G10 feels great, handle feels good with a full grip. 440c is a pretty solid steel, blade is sturdy with no play, and centers perfectly when closed. All in all, 1000% recommend for anyone looking for a decent EDC knife thats satisfying to fidget with and very handy. Its $22. Almost hard to believe for the quality. Will purchase another ganzo fb in the future for sure.

Love this
I don’t have the expensive knife this Ganzo firebird is modeled after but this knife I’d better than it should be for less than 24$ with tax. It’s not the knife it was modeled after, it’s not gonna compare I’m sure. It’s got good qc, and seems well put together. The action is a little stiff but seems to get smoother as it’s used more, or it could be that I’m building up calluses where I pull the axis lock to close it. The opening is ok, it’s really satisfying to flick it open and get the positive click that it’s locked open and then quickly pull the axis lock and flick it back closed— repeatedly. Like a fidget spinner for adults. I was breaking down large boxes for the recycle bin and had a box folded flat (2 layers) and I was handily able to just pull the cardboard towards me and the knife cut nice and straight with just the pressure of me pulling the cardboard toward me. I’m super impressed for the price.

Good value
Overall it going to be hard to beat the value. This was my first crossbar lock and I find the mechanism a little stiff for my arthritic hands. Size wise it about the same as my para 3 but the para 3 finger choil alway me to choke up and get a better grip the firebird grip seems a just a hair short for me and allows my pinky finger to slip I would probably go in my rotation if not for the strong lockup but at this price I’m not going to return it Ian more than likely gift it to a freind

So far, I'm liking this smaller version of the 727!
This knife was pretty good right out of the box. I haven't had to put a torx driver to it, or use any knife oil, and it's pretty snappy. This is the smaller version of the 727 (thus the 's' in the model number). I have sent back three versions of the medium size version of this knife. Each had a fault that I just couldn't live with. This knife has great ergos, a great blade shape, and is just fun to use. The 'fidget factor' is high on this knife. I love the 'axis' type lock. It's a lot of fun to flip it open and closed. I like the lighter weight of this knife, compared to the 'medium' size.As long as this knife works correctly, I'll be happy with it. However, if it starts to develop a rattle, or I'm getting too much 'bounce back' when I close the knife...back she will go! I really hope this is, 'the one'.I also own Ganzo's 704, which is fantastic. And, the Ganzo 7601, also a winner! I like what Ganzo does. I don't think you can beat them for value.

Very nice at a low price!
Very good general purpose EDC blade steel, great bearing pivot, very solid sturdy construction that is fairly precise, G-10 is quality and overall has a good sturdy feel that works well. Made for a good gift but I may get one for myself.

***Update*** Safety Issue
This the FB727S.The S means the small version. The small version is about the size of the Ontario Rat model 2.But it's not quite the same knife. The Ontario Rat 2 has a few more robust features for a wider range of uses.Basically, the Rat 2 would be easier to clean if you had to used it to dress game.It has washers instead of bearings and a liner lock instead of a lock bar. That said, for EDC these two knives are basically the same except for a few features. The Ganzo has ball bearings on it's pivot.Very smooth action, but hard to clean after dirty jobs.It also has G10 handle scales instead of Zytel, which, again are harder to clean, but more grippy and comfortable than Zytel. The Ganzo is more comfortable in the hand overall. The Ganzo is noticeably lighter weight. The Ganzo has 440C steel, which is good at keeping an edge, but slightly less good at being stainless than other steels. The Rat 2 comes in either Aus-8 or D2.I find those 2 steels to perform similarly to 440C.When closed the Ganzo is a little wider than the Rat 2.This means it doesn't fit in M.O.L.L.E. webbing.Typically the Rat 2 is the only knife I can find that fits in traditional M.O.L.L.E. webbing, so it's not a huge failure that Ganzo didn't copy that feature.Very few knives fit in M.O.L.L.E. webbing.I assume the lock bar was too big for the FB727S to be as thin as the Rat 2.So they traded thinness for fancier lock. Not a bad trade for most people's uses.***Update***After a few weeks of use I'm taking 2 stars off because this knife has a safety issue. The thumbstud sometimes catches the lip of your pocket when you are taking the knife out. This causes the blade to partially deploy unexpectedly.I've damaged two pairs of jeans and a glove due to this problem.I've never had this problem with the original Ontario Rat 2.I think this is the result how they changed the distance between the thumbstud and pivot point in order to accommodate the new lockbar (G-lock).Doing so also changed the angle of the pivot and decreased the amount of pressure necessary to open the knife.Basically, the knife has a design flaw that is unsafe but not the end of the world if you wear thick enough jeans.Three stars for effort.
