Great soap!
This is the best soap I use. Lathers great, just make sure to swirl it and not paint it.

Thick creamy lather
In the last bunch of years I used several products - "puck" type shaving soap. When I'm on the road I use the typical "can" lather. I needed a resupply off a Puck soap and decided to go back to the art of shaving soap refill, a product I use to use and stopped using on a whim about 3-4 rears ago. This product is one of the best, if not the best I've used over many years. The lather is thick, creamy, easy to build a lather, and "sticks" to your face not the brush. In other words it is easy to get the lather from the brush to your face. I use a big/full brush. The razor glides over the skin. I've had a couple of soap pucks that were also good and since I can't remember the names I can't refer them to you . this soap leaves the bathroom sink reasonably clean. If you partially fill the sink with water and shake the razor off in the water you may have noticed some products leave a film on the sink when you drain the sink this product is pretty clean. I don't rinse out my brush after use, the soap lasts about 3+ months, maybe less if you rinse out the brush. I have a plastic "bowl" that fits the puck and I scape the excess soap on the brush on the edge of the bowl. Other soaps last longer. I would say, give the product a try. I have a friend that has a "soap puck warmer" aka "ceramic soap cup warmer" ... been looking for one to purchase. The cup sits on a little stand with a built in small light like a Christmas tree string light that warms the cup. When you put the brush in very hot water the lather is nice and warm to your skin. Sure would like to get one.

Great Scent
This shave soap, when applied with a brush delivers a great shave. I recommend buying the wooden case to put the soap in, it comes with a lid to easily keep the soap from drying out to the point you will have to throw it away. Also, when you shower, if you shave either during or after a shower, apply the shave oil to your skin first, so the pores open up more and with the shave soap, you will feel like you went to a barber shop for a close shave.

The best shave soap
This is the very best shaving soap available. The scent is nice, the lather is exceptional and it seems to be good for my skin. I only use it on my head. I don't shave my beard off (trimmers for neatness) but for head shaving, it's silly to say this but it's like a dream shave soap. I had a shave soap that I bought at a little shop in Myrtle Beach, that was similar price as this, handmade, and I loved it but that's a five hour trip. I took the chance on this Art of Shaving soap and it's as good as the beach one. The only place I shave with a razor besides my head is my neck and there's just no irritation on my neck or head when using it. It's so good, I don't think I need to keep going. If it's not too expensive for you, this is highly recommended. I'm a person who tries to save money. I've had this bar for 2 months, use it 3 times a week and I can still see the etched brand in it. Typically, a bar this size will last me a year. That's a couple dollars a month, it's worth it to me to avoid the irritation. Last, I use an Omega badger brush to apply,

Badly packaged for shipping
Package is worse than a cheap bar of ivory soap. Box is not glued. Because it was shipped in a light envelope which had been thrown around in transit, box was in bad shape and soap had a small dent. Not what you expect for what is not a cheap product.

Will buy again
pros: I put this in a beautiful Parker shaving mug (microwave it a little), get a bunch of lather on my silverback brush and create sandalwood scented lather in a ceramic bowl. This works great and the shavette shave works great. For me, the scent is even better than Henry Cavendish and Men's Soap Company (will not buy again). I also use TOBS which smells a little more soapy but is also great for shaving. I could lather right in the Parker mug buy I like to heat up my bowl so my second pass shave is also warm. May use a little more if lathering in the cup with the soap.Cons: I have to work a little harder with any of the pucks to get enough soap onto my brush to prepare lather in my shaving bowl but so what. The soft soaps like TOBS are already to scoop out without working at it.I wonder if the ingredients in most of these shaving pucks are largely the same and almost all of them work just fine. Differences in price are mostly marketing. Conclusion: I will be buying this again.

Not like before.
Foam just disappears plus face left red and irritated afterwards.
