It works!
Easier to apply than the spray version, thicker gel doesn't get everywhere, doesn't drip so much. It's very effective, you can literally see the lice drop out as you apply it.Good size bottle to treat 3 family members.Doesn't smell great but not as disgusting as the old ones.So difficult to wash out. Really important to use shampoo before wetting the hair. It took 3 shampoos to remove most of it, and left the hair looking greasy. Left the bath extremely slippery too.

Works! Kills nits and eggs in 15 mins
With children in school nits are always an issue even when they become older and are teenagers. I've used a few different brands of nit/egg removers and feel that Hedrin once does a better job as it seems to work first time and a repeat is only needed occasionally. It works quickly (15ish mins) so can be done after school in the evening, unlike the ones that need to be left in for 8+ hours. It isn't particularly easy to wash out and I find it takes quite a bit of shampoo to get clean hair after. I usually buy a bottle of cheapish shampoo at the same time, as if all the family need to be de-nitted it's a lot of shampoo.

So far so good!
After a few rounds of wet combing my daughters hair, I found a few lice in my own so I ordered this. Not sure how the 10 heads have been measured as I’ve used the entire bottle on mine and hers! We do have very thick curly hair though. Application was not very easy on myself but fine on my daughter. No horrible scent that I remember from childhood nit treatments either! When I washed my hair, dead lice fell out which was great. I also brushed through with conditioner and a nit comb afterwards and found so many dead newly hatched lice. My head is a little itchy today but I think after another wash it will be fine. I’d read a lot of reviews saying it was impossible to wash out but I didn’t find this. I used loads and loads of cheap shampoo before wetting then washed through with another shampoo after the initial rinse as it doesn’t lather and my hair is lovely and soft. Great product and seems to work first time. Will do a check in a few days to see if it’s kept them at bay!

Quick and easy to use
Use this product on dry hair applied all over on thick long hair and (brought a nit comb separately) combed and combed and combed again till the hair was nit and egg free, the product makes it easy to do because it has oils in it, Then applied shampoo straight on emulsify the oils out then apply water had to repeat the shampoo process a few times, then applied conditioner and combed through again just to make sure no lice were still in the hair. I find this the best product as it’s quicker, it doesn’t need to be left on for more than 15 minutes.

The only one that works… for us
In my opinion, this is the only product that works and we’ve tried many, courtesy of the one parent who doesn’t treat her nitty kid. IMPORTANT though, you need to tweak the instructions a little.Ignore the 20 mins assurance. It’s not long enough. If you go on the hedrin site, they recommend overnight or 8 hours and this is the only way. It’s very greasy, so use old pillow cases. I put a tea towel between pillow case and pillow to prevent it wrecking my pillows. As soon as you put this on, you’ll see nits coming out to avoid it and after an overnight soak, there should be dead nits on the pillow. They’ll certainly come out with the nit comb.Washing out: this stuff is oil and will stay in your hair for days if you’re not careful (see other reviews). However, I have a tip that works well. When you go to wash out, tip half a yoghurt pot full of washing up Liquid on the hair and massage it (no water just the soap). When it’s covered, rinse. Then use 3 lots of shampoo and 1 of conditioner. The hair will be a little fluffy when dry but it won’t look greasy. Also then, soak the bottom of your bath/shower in washing up suds for an hour or two to get rid of the oil as it’s super slippery!Hope this is helpful.

Works but not a 'convenience' option
Bought this as I don't have time in my schedule for head lice treatments. It's called Once and you leave it on for 15 mins. Thought it would be quicker than their Treat and Go mousse I've used before (which you need to leave on for 8hrs and use twice). It seems to go further on thick long hair than the Treat and Go mousse did.I was impressed with its effectiveness. I found lots of lice seemingly dead on contact. It says to use again if you find live lice after one week. I waited a week (child was itchy on day 6) found a lice, and lots of eggs. I really had hoped 'Once' would mean just that.Because I was trying to save time using this, I feel I might as well be using the treat and go mousse; it's much easier to wash out. I've used up so much shampoo trying to get this Once stuff out its costing me extra while taking ages. You have to apply shampoo (this time I've tried washing up liquid on myself) directly to the hair without water. Even doing that, the hair comes out very lank. Then you need to wait for it to completely dry before you wash it again.I will say that the Once lotion is easier to use on yourself than the Once spray bottle version. I found that slippery and difficult and it just isn't nice being that close to sprayed dimethicone and trying not to breathe it in.
