Silicone Gel Sheets for Scars 4" x 4" Three Sheets Per Box; by Areza Medical - FSA/HSA Approved

I had a nasty burn on my foot from boiling liquid that I spilled on it in the kitchen. (I still can't believe I did it!) Anyway, it took four weeks for the burn to stop oozing so I could even start using these strips. I didn't have particularly high hopes, but I really wanted to minimize the scar and hopefully it would not interfere with my footwear.I easily cut the sheet to size and started using them three weeks ago. I am able to reuse the sheets by carefully washing them with a mild soap and warm water, then letting them dry "sticky" side up. I have already seen more improvement than I could have hoped for! I plan to use them for another 3 to 5 weeks and any further improvement will be more than I expect! The first picture is from March 11th, this second picture is April 4th. They are thicker than a silicone tape which gives my burn a little extra cushion for protection. I have been wearing socks to cover it most of the time and have not had any issue with it loosing adhesion.If I am ever in a situation again when I am concerned about scarring--I will definitely use these again!

I've been using these for many months now, but you really have to wash and clean them well with a gentle soap and soft toothbrush under warm/hot water. After 1 year of use, they will start to rip into pieces, which are still sticky. Scars are very slowly starting to fade. If one uses these along with steroid injections, I feel the scars will go away completely.

I like a lot of things about these. The silicone is soft and comfortable. They can be cut to fit different sizes. I don’t like that you can’t have any type of serums or salves on. Unless you use something else to hold them on they will fall/slip off even if used directly against skin.Update: I’ve rebought these 6 or 7 times now. They’re the softest and when newer stick really well. I find I don’t need serums or salves if you use them despite thinking I did originally. I wear them each night and give a quick rinse in the morning and it’s back to new. I can use the same one for over a week before the stickiness starts to fade. I really do recommend these now.

Be very aware of what this product is and isn’t before you buy it. I ordered several different silicone scar products to try. (ordered before surgery so I’d have them on hand, so was well out of return window by the time I opened any of them). This one is very thick and squishy. If I had to pick one word I’d say gooey. It reminds me of those sticky hands kids used to get out of vending machines and throw against the wall (am I dating myself?) or the goo sold to clean crevices. Everything is going to stick to this stuff and it will get gross (fur, hair, dust, lint). It also sticks to clothes and peels up at the edges. On the plus side, it is very thick, so it could provide good padding for areas that are still a little sensitive. Maybe just plan to cover it with a tegaderm or something? I don’t see using this repeatedly. Kind of a waste for scars you’re planning to cover with silicone for months to reduce appearance.

These are exactly like what my occupational therapist gave me for scar management after my little finger flexor tendon surgery. They are affordable and work just like they are supposed to while being flexible enough for movement.

I was surprised by how thick the material is; it's not thin like a bandage or tape. And, maybe because it's so thick, the adhesive was not strong enough to remain stuck to my body throughout daily activity.Also, of note: it's a very transparent material. If you're looking for something to hide the appearance of your scar, then this is probably not the product for you.
