Works Perfectly – No More Water Explosion!
Replaced the original backflow preventer installed by my builder, and this one works much better. No more water shooting out when I turn off the hose. It handles pressure changes smoothly and is easy to install. Highly recommend for anyone looking to avoid the mess and ensure better water flow control!

Does the Job
I bought two of these and they work as intended. The set screw on the one of two that I bought stripped out of the brass threads. The other one was good.

Works as expected
These replace originals installed at home build which had developed a terrible squeal from water flow. After replacement the squeal is gone but a few seconds after shut off, the valve leaks a small amount of water. Apparently this is normal for all vacuum break valves like this.

To avoid that last little spurt of water when turning off the faucet, make sure your hose is open
This unassuming little gadget has been a lifesaver. Not only does it prevent water backflow to the main supply, but it also ensures a hassle-free watering experience. The 3/4-inch thread outlet fits most standard hoses and end valves, so I can use it with my garden hose, sillcocks, wall faucets, and more. The best part? No more accidental showers from sudden bursts of water!Installation was a breeze, and the brass construction gives it a sturdy and corrosion-resistant build. Now I can confidently water my plants without worrying about water mishaps. Trust me, you'll appreciate the peace of mind this Vacuum Breaker provides. Just remember to detach the hose when you're done watering, and you'll be all set!Tip: To avoid that last little spurt of water when turning off the faucet, make sure your hose is open at the other end or use a quick-release connector.

Almost killed my new woodford hydrant
Last winter someone left a hose attached to my woodford hydrant. This defeated an important safety feature of the hydrant. The hydrant is supposed to drain all the water out after each use when you close the valve. The hose prevented air from entering the hydrant and allowing the water to drain out. As a result, water froze in my hydrant and broke the pipe. I had to purchase a new hydrant and dig a very deep hole to replace it. I don't want to ever do this again, so I purchased this device to allow air into the system even with an hose attached and allow the hydrant to drain. We just had temperatures of 10° in Chicago for the last week and my hydrant stopped working. I removed this device from the hydrant and found that water had collected and formed a cork blocking the flow of air in, and water out of the hydrant. I had attached this device to all three of my hydrants. I removed the other two devices on hydrants that were in warmer areas of the barn. There was water at the end of each hydrant that could freeze. I removed all of these devises. I am declaring the farm hose free until spring. If you are buying this to protect your faucets or hydrants from freezing it does not work.
